Is there still Resort Specific Merchandise???

My last trip to Disney was Feb 2010 and the resorts were clearing out all of the resort specific merchandise like coffee mugs, clothing, magnets, etc. They said that Disney had decided to stop selling them and opt for general WDW merchandise. They were so cute with the resort themed characters on them! Has that changed in the past couple of years? I am hoping that they are still available at the deIuxe resorts! I am going back for a week in Dec and really want more coffee mugs and things!

Pretty gosh darn certain that isn't true. I do recall seeing AKL specific merchandise back in January. Definitely nothing like they used to carry, but they still had some. And most of the resorts will usually have at least a specific pin available.

We stayed at WL in August. I bought a themed sweatshirt and my husband bought a shot glass. I also saw pins, pens, coffee mugs etc. Actually i really wanted to buy a mug but our luggage was already overflowing and we were worried about the weight of the cases at the airport! I'm sorry I didnt get one now, oh well something to buy next time:)

Yes there is specific merchandise at the resorts as I posted above, just not a lot of it, a few mugs, key rings, pins and a shirt or two. Art of Animation has tons of merchandise at current, mainly because it is new. Go to Pop Century and there is nothing. So basically you have just posted exactly what I had already said.

Yep, agree about AKL. They definitely had t-shirts and coffee mugs when we went in June 2011. I also remember seeing a decent amount of Boardwalk items (shirts, mugs, pins) during that same trip.

In January 2012 I was at the Beach Club and didn't see any Beach/Yacht items (no coffee mugs, no pins, nothing), just lots of DVC stuff. We went to dinner at the Polynesian and I remember seeing a few Polynesian items there. I think Grand Floridian also has a good amount of resort-specific items (at least from what I remember from our 2011 trip), but I could be wrong about that.

It seems to me like you have a better chance of find these items at deluxe resorts and as a PP stated at Art of Animation. ??? :confused:

I can tell you that in January the folks at the Boardwalk giftshops told us they would not be getting in any Boardwalk specific clothing after their current stock ran out...pins, mugs and such would be there...but no t-shirts...Polos...

I am glad Disney hasn't stopped resort specific merchandise completely! The resort items are the best things to buy IMO. Thanks, guys, for the hope to at least be able to add to my collection. Love the mugs!

They still have resort specific stuff. One that I am thinking of is a set of prints from each resort - like a water color or something. They have some other stuff too.
