I'm looking for the best and worst of the Caribbean Beach. I've only ever stayed at a value resort, but I just found out (ugh the lost money!!!) that we can use a military discount without staying at shades of green....so we can save almost 1000 and stay at a nicer place. I'm nervous because of some reviews I seen on trip advisor. I'd like to know what the real deal is...I felt like maybe some reviews may have been.......picky?

The resort I stayed in last was all star sports. we liked it. our non preferred room was great. we loved being closer to our vehicle...while the room was small, our family of 4 still had way too much fun, despite having sun poisoning. Anyway, I see all these people posting their mousekeeper had left surprises for their kids such as towel animals and even stuffed animals or other trinkets. we totally never experienced any of this at the sports resort...I may have been a bit disappointed by it, but it wasn't you know a trip changer? Needless to say the new trip has us all really excited. We're going April 2, 2016. There were tons of rooms left when I called in to set up our plan. We got all the dining we wanted except one place (Chef Mickey's, not until 9pm yikes!!)...so i'm feeling rather confident!

Give me some thoughts or guide me to a thread oh world experts!

I would use the search functionality on here to find what you're looking for.

As for the towel animals and such, I wouldn't be expecting anything. If you go in with the idea that there will be things, and then there aren't, it's a let down. I would go expecting nothing and let the magic come to you (and your family).

CBR is our favorite resort.
Sometimes we have received towel animals from mousekeeping and sometimes not. I think it depends on just how busy they are. If you really want to surprise your children with a towel animal, maybe you could leave your mousekeeper a note with a more generous tip?
But, quite honestly CBR is a great resort, you are going to love it so much more than All Star Sports.
Brand new queen beds (VERY comfy)
Much nicer pool.
Ceiling fans.
Pocket doors that separate the sink area from the bedroom.
More space.
These are just a few things that make it nicer!
You will love it!

We've had towel animals at All-Star Sports AND at CBR. And many other resorts. I think it is just a matter of how much time they have any given day. CBR is definitely better than than the Value resorts (qualifier, I have not yet stayed at the new one across from Pop Century.) But CBR has bigger rooms. Cars can be parked close to your room. The only difference in the rooms is the views (parking lot, garden or pool/lake).nd how far you are from food and bus stops.

I read it was the biggest resort of the moderates....as far as room size that is. My kids will love the pool. Last time we went I had over planned it to death. This time I'm just not. I will plan the fp+ and dining, but....otherwise i'm going to just go with it. Some of the evenings I'd like to be back at our resort having fun. Last April it was warm enough to swim, so i'm hoping this april is too. I want to make it clear, my original post I hope I didn't come off as complainy??!! I'm grateful for everything. My room was definitely always clean. I didn't much care for the mousekeeper for our room though, I seen her multiple times in passing and I was always so kind, i'd say hello, ask how her day was, and just try to make her feel good, but she was always rude to me....maybe she just didn't like me :(....I'm just really super looking forward to this trip. Last trip I had sun poisoning due to some medications I had to take and so I was pretty miserable. I've never even had sun burn before then....ugh. This time I'm going to push sun screen like crazy.

We really enjoyed CBR. Grounds were very beautiful, pool brilliant and food court good. We did get a towel animal-elephant-and a nice note from mousekeeping on our second day. Suppose it depends on how busy they are? The room was clean (we stayed on one of the pirate rooms) and our boys loved theme but the renovated rooms look fab too. It is spread out and I think that's what garners complaints-a 10 minute walk to the pool sounds fine in theory but can get wearing. There is a resort bus that circles on a loop if you don't want to walk. If we stayed again, we'd request a room closer to the pool, like Jamaica. It is also the first stop on the bus loop so would mean more likely to get a seat and is just across the bridge from Port Royale too. The bus stopping at each island and, sometimes, filling up before the last stop(s) is also cited as problematic for some. We thought it was great and really enjoyed our stay.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else on property.
The grounds are just so beautiful it immerses you in relaxation. We always have a car so the bus is not a biggie for us although we always take disney transport to magic kingdom as it stops much nearer the main entrance.
Regards rooms, they are comparatively spacious and very comfortable we have Never been disturbed by noise in ten trips! .. They also come with a fridge.
The pool facilities are great as the individual 'village' pools can be quieter and often just three or four people there.
For the kids, the central themed pool near the food court is a lot of fun but often busy.
The food court offers a good choice at breakfast and dinner. And in the evening the cabana bar is a neat place to sit and relax outside.
In all, it is our slice of paradise and couldn't recommend it highly enough... Have a great trip!

We requested the corners of either aruba or Jamaica. I hope we get it. it's right at the bridge! so I guess it's a good place then?

Is the food court prices comparable to the other resorts??

Really, really enjoy Caribbean Beach. Great theme (the vibrant colors and palm trees!!), great remodeled rooms, clean and well kept grounds, and a pretty decent food court with an awesome pool complex, in addition to quiet pools scattered around. And the CMs are always very friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

nevermind, shades of green! Nothing is wrong with shades of green. I just prefer to stay else where. they offer a rate that's cheaper than shades of green, so why wouldn't I take advantage of that offer? if the offer wasn't available, then i'd probably stay at shades of green.

THNX I was a bit worried. Not that we ever spend any time in the room!

We love CBR and have stayed at Aruba twice. It's better if you have your own car vs taking the Disney bus. I like the food court, especially the pulled pork sandwich. Sometimes if we stay elsewhere, I'll still go there for that sandwich lol.

I really loved my stay at CBR... We loved chilling out by the hammocks. To me it really felt like I was somewhere other than FL, beautiful grounds. Only complaint would be the busses, but it's no big deal as long as your patient and plan your time correctly. I would stay there again!

so....i'm really torn by all the good comments about it. I talked my husband into staying one extra night. Unfortunately, they can't.....ugh....so I have two options. 1. stay for the original stay or 2. switch resorts.....I don't have an idea what to do.....I feel so extremely torn.

My younger child he wants to stay at CBR bc he loves the pool....the oldest child wants to stay because she says "it's so cute"...haha.... should I keep trying to see if they have availability later, or should I just switch resorts....

You can always book a different resort for the extra day, then you get to experience both - or potentially change the extra day to CBR if availability opens up between now and then.

No matter which moderate you choose, you'll enjoy. We've just booked whichever was on sale for the best price at the time, which eventually took us to each one except French Quarter.

Keep your CBR dates and continue to contact WDW about the extra day... Did you call to check about availability, or did you just check the computer? Try calling, sometimes those CMs can work magic.
If not do a "split stay" for last night at Pop. You'll be packing a day early, BUT you won't have as much work on your last day.
I just know you're going to love CBR!
