Is there a better way to start any trip, thats more exciting then getting on the DME??

Excitement builds when the plane is taking off for me and builds until I board the DME. At that point, I really feel that I have arrived. Getting to the hotel is just awesome but the bus trip pretty much sets the tone for me. The video, even with Stitch, is great and allows for a very relaxing way to get to the resort. My only impatience comes when stopping at other resorts first (for the deluxe stay at WL, WL is the last stop).

The best line on the DME video is something like "Color your tomorrows with the best of your yesterdays!" The only time the DME can be a little bit of a downer is when you are expecting a themed DME bus and they have a substitute regular charter bus and don't even play the video! Had this happen once!

Always use DME, except for the kid's surprise birthday trip three years ago. They had no idea we were going anywhere. We left from a different airport (Allentown instead of Philly) Flew into Sanford instead of MCO, and had a limo waiting.

They had no idea we were in Orlando!!! Awesome trip. Although that was great, we all still look forward to that bus ride to WDW!!!!

This is the first time we will be driving down and I'm going to MISS the DME bus ride. I love stepping onto that bus and seeing the unique seat patterns and hearing the welcome video. Maybe I'll get a copy of the video spiel recorded and play it in the van as we approach Disney property. And if my wife could find the fabric pattern at a craft shop she can make Disney seat covers for the van.;)

Well, this only holds true if you're flying into Orlando International Airport but the little airport monorail you take to the baggage claim from the terminal gates is where I think it really starts to settle in and then waiting for the Magical Express. I've only used DME once so far but it's a nice convenience shuttle to have where you don't have to fork over additional money for a taxi.
your reading my mind lol....when your on the plane, you know your going lol, but when that little tram starts to baggage claim, something happens, maybe its because its like a little ride in its self, maybe because its the feeling of going "home" again, but for me too, is when the magic starts....

how about the day before you leave and you awake to go to the parks for your last day, then to make things worse, the dreaded door tag and envelope is hanging on your door with "we hope you enjoyed your stay here at WDW, here is your magic express itenerary for tomorrow etc".....weve only been to WDW twice but that is the worst part of the trip....then the whole last day your there, you try and have a good time, but that little voice in your head is saying to "take it all in, this is it"....then the next day at MCO, as you walk TO your plane, you cant help but notice families that are JUST NOW getting there for their week or so of fun....and you have to go back to life on the outside.....now ive been on alot of vacations, ive seen europe (rome and zurich) and beaches, mountains etc, but you all know that WDW and disney in general, is so, so special. Its so much more than rides, resorts, ADRs, wishes, fantasmic, the parks, food etc....its hard to put a finger on it. Maybe its the kid we long to hang onto, memories of watching disney movies on a random saturday yrs ago, even the small things, like walking past the main st confectionary and smelling that familiar smell, or just the architecture of epcot along with the trees and flowers. For me anyways, its those little things that seperate WDW from so many other places. Im on WDW sites everyday, im always counting down, and some say that im obsessed. Maybe I am, and maybe im delusional about what life is supposed to be like, (or should be like) but when the naysayers start naysaying, ill think about seeing mickey in Magic Kingdom, smile to myself and heck, maybe even give tinkerbell a wink....

We have always rented a car because our timeshare is off property but we took DME the first time in 2011 and loved it!! We will be taking it again next month. So excited to just get off the plane, let someone else get our bags and just get on DME and start our vacation!
