Is the pin trading craze fading?

i hate pin trading...esp now that they are giving those free pins away. All our lanyards are filled with the free pins and nothing else. and some managers yell at you for having a full lanyard of free pins and others yell at you for not trading with guests

I wouldn't say we collect pins, but we buy the ones we really like, usually about three to four each on a trip. Usually my youngest buys the most, sometimes as many as five or six. I figure, sure, why not, it's cheaper than shirts!

When we go to the parks, my youngest will wear a lanyard so he can trade with the CM's. My oldest won't wear pins (ruins his cool image), my wife wears maybe two or three on her shirt, and I'll wear some on my hat. I've never had anyone ask me about the pins on my hat, which is okay, since I don't trade pins.

I try to collect one or two every time at down at Disney. Usually from the resort and a ride/character, or if there was some special occasion like a family reunion or the first trip with my fiancee. We don't wear them, but if that's your thing, by all means wear them proud! (Especially if you're a kid, or a kid at heart!)
