Is the parade cushion worth it?

I''m sorry, but all I could see when I looked at that bottom cushion is all of the different faces looking in shocked horror as if to say, "Good Lord! Your not going to put THAT on me are you?" Well everyone except the way to happy looking IASW face which looks entirely way to pleased with the whole thing. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

At least it wasn't just Donald Duck with a panic look on his face....:hilarious:

When we went to Disneyland 2 years ago, we did the dining package for Fantasmic and those cushions were given to us as we left the restaurant. Honestly, the cushion under my butt didn't make a huge difference, compared to the discomfort of sitting on the ground for over an hour. But that's just me... (Still the cushion as a giveaway was nice, but I wouldn't have paid extra for it.)

Gee, they do look bulky.... if they sold blow up cushions you could deflate them after use and store them away afterwards.

I bought these for the plane and for sitting for parades, waiting on the ground for night shows, and shows with hard seats (RoL, F!). Weigh less then 3 oz each. Takes up almost no room deflated.

If there was such a thing, I would probably say no.
These are the result of Disneyland trying to make up for getting rid of actual chairs for the preferred viewing of Fantasmic and just forcing guests to sit on the ground.... To make it "special" and worth the money they give you cheesy seat cushions.... I guess they've now decided they will sell them in WDW... If you have a very bony butt they might make sense but otherwise they are just another way for the mouse to take more of your money.

As another poster mentioned the Disneyland ones, we too got some as part of our dining package for Fantasmic. We arrived about 30 minutes before the show started and it was nice to have a little extra padding (even though I have plenty!). It was kind of a pain to carry it around after the show, even though it was for only a couple hours. We did ask at the restaurant for a bag to carry them and got a clear bag. So if have something to carry them around that might be helpful. I would not pay the price Disney is charging now for it though, too expensive.

Maybe they would be nice to use on the hot pavement in the summer months? I could see them being helpful to use while sitting on the curb for the parade. I don't think that they are necessary, but some people will probably find them useful.

I say they should come out with a backpack that folds out as a mini chair (had one when I was a kid at one point). That way you could carry it like a backpack and fold it out during parades. That I would probably put some investment in, especially if it is well made and nicely themed.

Only problem is backpacks cost almost $40-$50 there..Can you imagine how pricey a thing like that would be?

I believe folding chairs, even ingenious ones stowed in a backpack are forbidden from entry.

Wow! Seriously? I didn't know that. I know that some type of food storage containers are but I didn't think backpacks were included. Lists of things banned in Disney perhaps?...

No, I didn't say backpacks were forbidden. The folding chairs hidden in backpacks are forbidden.

As with anything else in the park. If it isn't something that you feel you need, or if you feel it isn't worth the price: don't buy it. Walk right by.

I actually would consider buying one as I'm one of those skinny people that will never have much natural cushion and sitting on the pavement can be a painful and less than magical experience. I avoid it whenever possible but it does happen from time to time. I consider it worth the price.

Not sure what all the folks taking a mocking tone here have a problem with. Disney identifying that there may be a market for these? Seems like good business sense. The price? Geez, everything in the parks is sold at a crazy markup. It's part of the reality in theme parks, ballparks and every other similar venue 'round the country.

I like the parades. I sometimes have to sit on the pavement. I have a bony posterior. I have a lot of disposal income. Sold. Don't fit into these categories? No one is going to mind your passing on it in the gift shop.

I've spent a lot of time sitting on bleachers at soccer games and these are pretty common (although they aren't Disney themed). I'm not surprised that Disney started selling them.

I don't particularly think they are necessary for most Disney events as they are much shorter than sporting events. I would buy one of these if my sister still played soccer. These designs are much nicer than the ones universities sell and the cost is about the same. I would not buy one specifically for a Disney event.
