Is the Monorail open????

Is the monorail open? I read somewhere that it closed down 2 weeks ago for refurbishment and won't be open till christmas. I found that hard to believe so I read it over and over, hopefully misunderstood or is there any truth to that? Going in November so I hope I misunderstood...thanks

You probably read about a specific monorail train, they'd NEVER shut the whole system down for rehab unless it was the absolute direst of circumstances.

i think you'll find that its the Disneyland monorail in california that is currently closed not the one in WDW.

Disneyland's monorail is currently clsoed because of the Nemo Submarine construction. I believe they said it would reopen after Thanksgiving. But as far as I know Disney World's monorail should be operating.

oh man that would be horrible if they did ever shut down the WDW monorail for awhile. Only way that would happen is if a beam broke.

Just went to the world over the holiday weekend. It was working fine, and absolutly full of people.

That was David's piece on the Year of a Million Dreams for Disneyland on Mouseplanet. It is in fact Disneylands Monorail that is closed. Just as everyone above said it would be rough for WDW to "close" there monorail totally, sure one or two trains would not be a problem but shutting down any of the 3 routes would have a affect on almost all guest of the WDW resort.

I went to the MK one day and I walked into the TTC and it was a madhouse. I asked a CM what was going on and they said that the Monorails were down and the Ferrys were too. Get this, Everybody was being bussed into the Magic Kingdom! It was crazy, They had setup lines and were packing people into Disney Transport busses and driving them to the Resort bus stop. I've never seen so many people in the TTC.

I immediately turned around, got back in my car and drove to Studios. I went back a few hours later and the monorails were back up and running. I don't know what was wrong with the ferrys.

There would be one hell of a queue for the Ferry accross the Seven Seas Lagoon to the T&T Center ahahah!

I think they are talking about one train only, when i was there in august we got evacuated from a train and they said it was going to be taken to the maintence building, it was the purple one.

As of 5 p.m. today, the monorail at WDW was running from MK.
