Is the food and wine aspect of Flower and Garden Festival working?

I really enjoyed the menus. Disney really seemed to let the Chef's have their way with this one and it shows. The menus are very unique and creative in comparison to the Food and Wine Festival, which fell flat for me last year due to the lack of inspiration.

Will the booths be open during EMH?

I'm going the final weekend so hopefully they don't run out of beer like they did at F&W.

I just wish that the pineapple spiced rum Dole whip had pineapple juice in it. Instead you wind up with a shot of melted dole whip and rum at the bottom of the cup.

I wish it had coconut rum instead. More tropical!! My whip tasted fine but the rum never mixed with the dole whip and it didn't blend that well. Still, I did have 2 of them.

Thats why I (and a LOT of others) thinks it needs to be a pineapple float to mix properly

Now you can have your opinion but how did it overload it???? There is one small booth in each country which doesn't take away from the F&G Festival at all. Half the time you walked right passed it without noticing it and if you did see it who cares??? Sorry, just ridiculous.

The day we went it was very crowded and we hardly saw any of the garden part. I had read online that there was a lot to see and from our point of view there was not that much garden but it was more about food. We went into the main pavilion during the seminars and ironically there was no one there attending. But out at the food booths was were everyone was. We enjoyed a nice chat with 3 master gardeners and got many ideas on things to do in our yard. Thats how few people went to the seminars that day.

And please do not call me ridiculous because I am allowed my impression of it. And it is based on where we saw people and what we saw.

Sorry didn't mean to call you ridiculous, long day yesterday. But the food booths are so few and far between that they are seriously not changing the feel or flow of the festival. It is a nice addition for those who want a unique snack. The flowers and gardens can still be enjoyed by all.

while i agree its a nice different type snack the day we were there it was crowded and people stop to read the boards and etc and it did not seem that they were spaced out to me. like I said we felt that the focus was more the food and not the garden which is why we went.

Thank you for apologizing. I appreciate that.

They should be selling edible flowers!

I like the addition, but I am concerned that if it goes too well the food booths may start to take over the F&G festival. I think only a few booths with a specific focus on spring foods is a nice addition as long as it stays that way.

I enjoyed the new food aspect of the F&G. It wasn't quite "farm to table" but it was a nice push in that direction, showcasing fruits and veggies and seasonal foods. I also like that it was on a smaller scale that F&W, and that the food was unique. Personally, I find F&W to be getting a bit stale, same food over and over again with little change.

However, I can't help but feel that the F&G these past years cheated me as well. Same topiaries over and over, just put in different spots. Don't get me wrong, seeing all of the flowers in bloom is absolutely stunning, but would it kill them to design some new stuff???? I have this feeling that the food booths popped up this year more as a way to make things "different" on the cheap - and a way for Disney to further profit. Costs money to make new topiaries and they get zero back in return bucks. Lots of return when you sell food.
