Hi everyone! I was reading some trip reports and saw that the crane was up in some photos. Does anyone know if it's still up? We leave Saturday and wondered if we would be so lucky to have it grace our photos? lol

Yes it will be up for a while due to putting up the lights on the castle that need to be ready come the first week of November.

Have they been raising and lowering the cane? Its seems like it is in some of the pictures. However, it was not in all the pictures I saw. We are going Saturday for the party this weekend. The crane does not really bother me. I know they need to get everything ready for Christmas. I am surprised they do not turn the Christmas lights on at 12:01 on Halloween night.

Yes, they do raise and lower it. It wasn't up one morning when we came in last week, but it was raised later in the day. It was also down during the Halloween party.

I'm wondering if it's a regular thing now. We were there in February and it was up and were here now and it's up.

No it's not a regular thing well kinda is....right now is putting up the castle lights and in Feb they are always still taking down the castle lights. And other times it could be for maintenance but it's not always up all year.

I believe that the crane is up late August-November putting up the Dream Lights and January-February/March-ish taking them down. But, I don't think it's up every single day in this time frame because we were there Mid February 2015 for one day and according to pictures/blogs it was up several days prior and several days after our visit but not the day we were actually there.

If the works gotta be done for the first week of November, when do you think they will be finished? Should the lights be done for Halloween and the crane removed?

They will likely have it up until the lights come on for testing and such up until the night prior to the first lighting. So yes it may be up Halloween day. During the MNSSHP's the crane is down though if that's what your worried about.

I'm visiting for the first time from February 22nd until March 8th next year, I'm guessing it'll still be up when we visit? I'm not too bothered as it's my first time going and we're travelling all the way from the UK so I'd rather deal with the crane than not go at all haha
