Is Thanksgiving celebrated at WDW?

I'm going to WDW during Thanksgiving break--but it seems WDW jumps from Halloween to Christmas. Is Thanksgiving a thing at all?

Friends of ours have made it a family tradition to go to WDW at Thanksgiving. They arrive a few days before and stay the rest of the week. They usually dine at LTT but have also dined off site when they couldnt get ADR's. Theyve been to WDW enough times that doing a minimal amount of things in a day doesnt bother them. They enjoy just soaking in the parks atmosphere and feasting on snacks.

A little off topic, but the Disney Cruise Line definitely does.

One of the most eloquent captains speeches I have ever heard on a cruise was on our Disney cruise right when we were about to eat our Thanksgiving Dinner.

We were in WDW for Thanksgiving for the first time last year. As others have said, many of the restaurants will have a special/traditional Thanksgiving menu for dinner.

As we’ve never been away over a major holiday, and have always had a “traditional” Thanksgiving, we decided to go totally non-traditional and did Teppen Edo for dinner! We had a blast, and I’d totally recommend.

While we won’t do it every year, we really enjoyed being away that week! Will def do again. Was just fun for these Northeasterners to be somewhere warm for the Holiday, and be together in one of our happy places!

I'm sure that they have some official stuff that's not heavily advertised, but it is one of the busiest times of the year. Pretty much any time that kids are off from school outside of the summer is going to be insanely crowded. You know, responsible parenting, and not wanting your kid to miss school just for Disney...

Hubby and I went Thanksgiving 2016 for our 20yr anniversary and really enjoyed it. It was crowded but I thought manageable. We have talked going again next year till I priced tickets. In 2016 for 7 day MYW for 2 was $590.00. Now in 2019, $1092.00. Same amount of time. Least to say I have seen my first and last WDW Thanksgiving.

The one thing to really be aware of- that week is one of the busiest weeks of the year, only beat by the week before Christmas through New Years and 4th of July (oh, and likely SWGE opening). So be prepared for huge crowds.

I've seen Thanksgiving itself go both ways- one of the busiest days of the year and some parks reducing the numbers they let in because they're pushing capacity, and other times that day has been lighter than the others around it. But expect the parks to all be packed busy.

As others have said, outside of plenty of turkey available to eat, there really isn't anything else done for it. It's in the middle of the Christmas celebrations, so Thanksgiving itself is pretty much ignored. That's also partially because a very large percentage of guests are from outside of the US so Thanksgiving is meaningless to them.

Lunch on Thanksgiving Day at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge has had the traditional Thanksgiving meal. It had turkey, ham, pork, and all the sides. As a bonus you can wonder around Wilderness Lodge and look at the Christmas decorations once you are done with your meal.

This was the most Thanksgivingish thing I've ever seen at WDW. This was taken in 2012 at California Grill. Everything else was in full Christmas mode.
