Is Soarin 2.0 still a go?

Soarin doesn't just need a new film, it needs a whole new movie. Flying over California does nothing to fit the theme of the Land pavillion. Now if they updated it to be flying over the natural wonders of the world like the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, the rainforest, etc. then it would be perfect.

Despite the fact that it's California, most of it works because we are generally flying over natural land formations. The only parts that really don't are the end over LA, the surfing bit, and the golf course.

Well, there is that, however...

Soarin' at DCA is not even considered a "must do" attraction, whereas at Epcot its "step over your own mother to get a fastpass" status, so there's really no excuse for Soarin' at Epcot to be in any state of neglect.

I don't know. Everytime I've been to DCA, the wait was just as long as it is at Epcot. However, there may not be the mad-dash in the mornings at DCA as there is at Epcot.

I've definitely had much shorter waits at DCA. The park doesn't draw as well and has more marquee attractions than Epcot so even though the attraction is much easier to get to than it is at Epcot it's not going to have as long a wait.

I think Soarin' in just an average attraction at best as is, and not worth the hour long wait even with fastpass it always brings. This just makes it worse.

It really is a shame at what's happened with Epcot. Future World is a disgrace. World Showcase is great, but it needs more attractions.

Yes. That's why I would only hit Soarin' at opening and grab a fastpass after, but I do look forward to a new movie with digital projection. Hoping it's a winter '13 project after TT refurb is finished. They should do a quicky cleanup of it though until then.

Soarin' doesn't even have the second or third longest wait in DCA half the time. It's nice to ride it out here. And it's cool that they still have a single rider line. :king:

The ride film might be dirty but how about a repairing the screen as well? I've noticed tears the last few trips and keep expecting them to be repaired.

Yeah, Soarin' is in rough shape, and if it simply needs to be cleaned than there's no reason they can't get in the routine and take 10 minutes every 2 weeks and maintain it. But at this point, the film must damaged. But once they do update it, the wait time is going to sky rocket again. At this rate, the ride will be popular for another 20 years.

For anybody who's a regular at both WDW and DLR, there's no doubt this is true.
Soarin' is almost an afterthought at DLR.

Very true, and strange. Star Tours at Disneyland is the reverse; it seems it's the WDW version nobody knows exists, and the Disneyland version that gets the 2-hour line.

We waited in line for 40 mins today and the film wasn't even watchable. Not only was there dirt all over the screen, the film was shaking so badly it looked like there was 2 of everything. I took a video that I showed to the Soarin' flight crew and they just shrugged it off.

We love Soarin' and very unhappy with the quality of the existing film. Great ride, it's a shame the quality of the film is allowed to deteriorate. :brick:

Being from CA I love Soarin' Over Cali because,"I can see my house from up here!" but, when at WDW I'm amazed at the level of eastcoast hate for it because it is based in CA. Because of that I always wonder why they didn't do a FL film or at least an eastcoast tour film. Alas, I'm not in management so I can only speculate but, await whats coming. Sorry to hear its in such poor shape.
