Is Prime Time With Out The Hassle Possible?

Can you ask the Hostess at The 50's Prime time that you don't want to be hassled during your meal?

My wife and I want to enjoy the the scenery in some of these Themed restaurants but we don't enjoy being "Part of the show"

Because we don't like to be hassled while eating we have missed out on some great places to eat.

Chef Mickeys (The napkin waving)
Whispering Canyon ( Asking for ketchup)
50's Prime Time (Getting scolded )
Hoop De Doo Revue ( Called up to dance )

There are many other resturants that I can't think of right now that have audience participation.
We don't want to dance, wave flags, sing along with, sing I'm a Little Teapot at, ride stick ponys, sit in the corner, clap our hands to, or get yelled at for having our elbows on the table or for not finishing our vegetables. We just want to admire the work of the Disney artists, and enjoy a good meal.

I realize that it's all part of the "Disney Magic" but we don't like to be a part of it.
Please don't tell us we have to just eat fast food...we paid the same to get in the parks as everyone else. We just don't want to participate.

While it's great for some, my wife and I just HATE it.

Can you, and has anyone else here, ever went into one of these places and requested not to be bothered?

I would be scared if I got a gallon of iced tea, especially after making the mistake of ordering sweetened ice tea at a restaurant in Georgia. I now always make sure I have unsweetened ice tea, even now that I'm living in Upstate NY, and will NEVER drive to WDW again, let alone by way of Savannah!

You got a good woman there man! :animwink: Especially when its hot out... FORGET IT.... I go to this one place here in town for lunch once or twice a week. It's right next to the shop where I've got my candles set up to sell. Anyhow... It's been so hot & miserable out lately, I'll plop down in my booth and order my tea. I'll chug it down and by the time the server comes back around to take my order I'm looking pitifully up at him for more tea! It's insane LOL I think I freaked out the server once by how often he was having to re-tea me. I'm *so* tempted to just take some Cold Brew bags with me when we go to WDW. Do some of these places think you're from Mars if you ask them to give you some ice only?

You can get free ice-water (from the tap of course) at any counter service location in WDW. You have to specify iced tap water. That should make your cold brew bags become very useful.

My wife doesn't just do it in the heat, she does it all year round. She is diabetic and has had kidney problems in the past. She drinks A LOT. She is also a soda junky (diet of course). And with that comes a flip side, bathroom breaks. I told her I won't drive any long distance with her again because she can barely go an hour without going to the bathroom.

Just go to Wispering Canyon and have fun, who cares if they make a fool of yourself, most likely you will not know anyone else in the whole place and you will laugh about your time there later. While you are there ask for a straw, spoon,BIG drink, ketchup, and ask where your "cow boy/girls" horse is.
As far as Hoop De Doo.......The chance of you getting on stage are small. But at the end they do bring washboards for you to play but there are soooo many ppl there that noone is paying attn to how goofy you look because they are too busy laughing at everyone in there own party.

LOL! This reminded me of a trip to WDW. We drove down from Illinois and we were in Georgia and my husband asked for "iced tea" he immediately put 2 sweetners NOT sugar, stirred and took a big swig...well the look on his face was priceless...Sweet tea w/ artificial sweetner....highly NOT recommended!
