Is photopass worth it?? Pros and cons??

We always use photopass and have had pretty good luck. The photographers in the really "good" spots tend to be better than some of the ones just standing near an attraction or on the walkways. This year in January we got the photopass+ which was great because we got all our dining and ride photos and the magic shots are cool. It seemed to us that the photographers saw the + and figured that we were really interested in the pictures so they took extra time and some really went out of their way for cool pictures. There were some crummy ones but out of 400-500 pictures that's better than we could have done ourselves. Order before your trip otherwise it's crazy expensive and take phone pictures or write down all your photopass card #'s in case they are lost, they can track your missing pictures down easier. We had some that didn't show up online and Disney (with some aggressive prodding) was able to find the missing ones. The online editing is also fun to play with once you learn how it works, which took awhile. All in all I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

I think it's worth it. Get the photopass + where you can add certain ride photos and some character meals if you are doing any that participate. And with the photopass regular or + some of the photographers can do special pictures. Have fun on your trip!!
THIS!!!!! photopass + but you need to do it 14 plus days prior to arrival to get a discount (only $149.00 pre arrival purchase) http://www.disneyphotopass.com/skins/100147/help/producthelp_PPPlus.htm. All of the ride photos are included will photopass +, you just give them the card and they put it on it. For those that like $ numbers ride photo at cheapest is ~$15.00 if you get 10 ride photos separately you will have paid for photopass +, and who doesn't ride at least 10 rides at Disney? Ride photos are at Rockin Roller coaster, tower of terror, buzz light year, space mountain, splash mountain, test track, dinosaur, and expedition Everest. You get a cd, etc... and do not have to worry about pictures. Also the Disney photographers really do an outstanding job (that's saying a lot coming from me). Last year we came home with over 300 pictures on our photopass + package. Also if you are "fun" with the photographer, you will get extras....;)

P.S. forgot to mention photos from parties like Mickeys not so scary Halloween party are also included in the photopass + package at no extra cost.

Photo pass is free, so I say...why not?

Photo pass plus is not free.

I'd say if you plan on doing a lot of character dines and / or think you are going to want ride photos, you can easily make PP+ a value for you.
Yes it is free, but the pictures are not. With photopass plus everthing is already paid for, every picture you have taken is yours. We like getting the pictures from the rides (Multiple times on the rides) so it is cheaper for us to do the photopass plus.

For special events, hands down it's worth it (photopass plus) For "just a visit" I'm not sure I would. We had it last time when it was the grand daughter's first trip - and I'm really glad I did. It also includes photos from any character meals, etc. for no additional fee.

Yeah...my point was more, if you aren't sure, may as well do at least Photopass because it doesn't cost anything, and then decide later.

I love tink!

I had photo pass+ for my summer holiday this year, was lovely to to have all the photos from character breakfasts and the attractions as well.
Does anyone know what you do after you have made all your edits on the computer, do I need to add every photo into the shopping cart to order the CD for shipping?

I think it's worth if you have little kids. We used Photopass+ this past February. The photographers would be snapping away while we're busy with the kids. Seems like they also take a lot more photos with kids and when using their own camera.

For just the two of yall? If you have a decent camera you can probably just let the photographers use that and just buy the Attractions+ pass for all your on-ride photos.

The Attractions+ pass is $45, but considering ride photos are like $20/each it's well worth it. You can purchase it at the on-ride counter, then just add photos to the card.

Includes:
  • Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (Magic Kingdom)
  • Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
  • Tower of Terror (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
  • Rock ‘n Roller Coaster (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
  • Dinosaur (Animal Kingdom)
  • Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
  • Test Track (Epcot)

We did photopass in 2011 and it was great to have pictures of all 3 of us. And one of the photographers really got into while my Darling Daughter was talking to Woody & Jessie he got photos of Dear Hubby & I smiling and watching her interact. They were great to see when we went to the room that night. We had no clue he had done them. All of our pictures were clear and in focus. Plus we got some really cute stock photos that my Darling Daughter loved seeing and being able to have. We really enjoyed doing photopass and are talking about doing photopass+ on our next trip. Between Photopass and what Dear Hubby took, well I am STILL going through pictures trying to pick ones for the scrapbook.

I've never bought the pass. Just a few pics here and there. The photographers take pics with your own camera too so there you have it.

Likewise. I've never bought it as the pics they took with my own camera were great. But if you decide to use it, make the most of it by asking the photographers to take "magic" photos wherever you go.
