Is Paint the Night & Magic Happens dead?

The SpectroMen were so freakin weird but their strangeness added to the charm of the parade.
Those things are as scary as the fairies in Light Magic!

It didn't, but here are the likely reasons it hasn't come back yet.
1.) Disney trying to cut costs, no shock there. Fewer parades, fewer performers.
2.) So few people got to see it before the park's closure that they want it to be an event they can market. They simply don't need MH! for that right now (see #4).
3.) Because of the limitations of Disneyland's parade route, it is more complicated to run a day and night parade on the same day than it is at other parks.
4.) It's the 50th anniversary of MSEP, which they know will bring people on its own, so they feel they don't need another parade.

To be clear, these are not excuses or me endorsing their choices, but simply reasons why they have chosen not to bring it back yet.

PTN unfortunately is probably dead.

#2 and #4 is the more likely reasons.

Magic Happens likely return in some sort of event likely to celebrate its "second grand opening"

As for PTN, as much as I would love it to be back, the tech issues with that parade will likely keep it out for the foreseeable future.

My speculation is that theyre saving it for 2023. Marketing wise having full entertainment for the BIG 100 celebration will draw huge numbers to the park and market it as `Worlds most Magical Celebration on earth`. yes the might use the 50th slogan for wdw ,but still the 2023 is not far away from this timeline.

Give us PTN and Magic Happens for Disney100, Disneyland. I won't even be mad that they're old parades; I'll gladly take the leftovers for a company celebration.

I hope Magic Happens comes back to Disneyland soon. But, I'm afraid there's no chance for Paint The Night Parade to come back anytime soon. I mean, don't get me wrong! I love Paint the Night Parade. It's a worthy successor of MSEP than Light Magic. But sadly, after the things I've heard like costumes giving performers injuries and very expensive, we'll never Paint The Night Parade ever again. And getting a new nighttime parade is unlikely. But there's a lot of Paint The Night Parade videos on Youtube. Visit them if you want your Pain the Night fixed.

There's a rumor out there that both parades are being combined into a super parade called Paint the Happens!
Really? I heard the new name would be "It Happens at Night: The Magically Painted Parade". It will consist of two side by side lines of Cast Members with ODV carts trailing behind them selling light-up wands. :D #magical

I guess some things never die..

Hmm, interesting this float is close to the warehouse door… this could mean anything though. Maybe they just kept this one float and destroyed the rest, maybe their in the process of dismantling the floats, they could be Preparing the floats for their return, they could be preparing the floats to be shipped out to DCA, DL or somewhere else. 🤷‍♂️
