Hello everyone ! I have been lurking for a while, but this is my first post! My 1yr old Boxer has a hidden Mickey under his nose! It took about 6 months for us to notice it, maybe I have Disney on the brain too much. Planning on a Dec.-Jan. Trip (First :xmas: holiday in Disney)! Does any one else think he has a hidden Mickey ?

Before pulling the trigger on the hotel (we already have 7 day park passes ) any special deals we could miss out on if we were planning on staying 8 days during the Christmas - New Years? We did notice that the hotel prices literally double, do they happen to offer any incentives during that time :veryconfu

Very unlikely to find deals during that time... it's one of the busiest weeks at the resort. High demand = high prices.

Cute pooch. And yeah, I'll buy that he has a hidden Mickey :) And BTW, welcome to WDWMagic!

I figured as much. The last time we went in March and were not able to get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom. Do I need to book that now? I looked at the boards and noticed a maximum capacity was reached at one of the parks. I'm nervous to go during peak times.

What are parks to avoid / or go to on Christmas day, New Years eve. Who has the best shows etc. We are also planning to visit (for one day) IOA, As well as Universal Studios.

You'll want to try booking CRT as soon as your booking window opens. It's one of the hardest restaurants to get into and during the busiest week of the year... that's going to be tough! But even if you don't get it your first try, keep checking, you never know if someone will cancel =)

No doubt it will be busy, MK often closes on Christmas Eve/Day and NYE/New Years. I've never been that week, but I'd want to go to Epcot as there's more space there than the other parks. No matter what park you decide on, get there early and plan on spending the day there.

And your dog is pretty adorable =) That's definitely a hidden Mickey!

Thanks! His name is Indiana!

Although just doing my preliminary research, I just checked online for dinner reservations and noticed that Dec. dates are not available. Just like flights do these gray boxes eventually become selectable ? Forgetting about Cinderella's royal table do I need to make breakfast / lunch / dinner reservations throughout my stay during this peak time? Also probably one of the most questions asked, should I purchase a meal plan? Again we would be on Disney property 7 days and Universal 1 day.

Too cute! And you will want to get up early and be on the phone when the reservation desk opens on the day your reservation window opens if you want CRT that week.

Good luck.

I would definitely suggest making any table service meal reservations you want. You may be able to get some walk up/same day dining, but I wouldn't count on it.

You're able to start booking 180+10 days from the time you check in if you're staying on property (so really 190 days ahead.) http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php That will let you know what date that is.

The dining plans are a numbers game, really. I'd say sit down with your family and look through the menus, see what you would rather eat, and then see if the dining plan would be cheaper. It works for some people, not for others.

We were down there last year starting New years Eve, and in Epcot which was so crowded you could barely move after 7, ending up returning to the Boardwalk since we had a Boardwalk view 2 bedroom and toasted the New Year in there.

On New years Day, headed to MGM later in the day, it was crowded but not overly - MK and Epcot were jammed - did some rides, had dinner and walked through the Osbourne Lights which was well worth the time. Very festive and not overly crowded. Crowds dropped dramatically beginning the next day and then we park hopped.

Actually you can book 180 days out anytime, but if you are staying on property you get to book up to ten days into you vacation 180 days from the first day of your stay. So you can book the first day of your vacation 180 days out, the second day 181 days out, the third day 182, etc. So if you stay 10 days you can book that last day 189 days out.

In short, if you want hard to get ADR's, Cindy's or Le Cellier, you need to be on the telephone 180 days out from your first day of vacation and you will have a better chance of securing the high value reservations later in your stay because those days are not open to the general public yet.

Cool trip calculator I dig it!
Meet George - he also has a hidden Mickey..........

One of my favorite breeds, we might get a second dog, and the dalmatians are the top of my list, "Pongo" would likely be his name although I'm a big Sublime fan and would want to go with "Louie".
