Is MVMCP worth it?

Okay, I was at MNSSHP on 9/29 which I enjoyed a lot. It looks like I can make a return trip to WDW 11/10-12 or 11/15-17. (I'm a Florida Resident). MVMCP is on both 11/11 and 11/15. Is it worth attending compared to MNSSHP?

I'm also considering schedule and budget, which is why I'm staying at All Star Sports this time. Then there's EMH at MK on 11/10. Was at MK/Epcot only two weeks ago. So was thinking of more time at HS and AK this time. Maybe I'll buy ticket day of if I decide on it.

No, not in my opinion. MNSSHP is much, much better than MVMCP.

But you should go to it and experience it for yourself. See what you think. :)

OK - at the MNSSHP you get candy and wear your costume and basically trick or treat, ride rides and watch the parade...but what do you DO at MVMCP ??? is there candy give-aways??? games to play??? I get the rides and parades, but what else?? i have never been. Oklahoma is a LONG ways away.

They don't give away candy, but they have free hot chocolate and cookies at several locations throughout the park.

There was other stuff in the past, the best of which was cut a few years ago, the "'Twas The Night Befroe Christmas" show. The removal of that show was the last straw. The party just isn't worth much any longer.

The fireworks are okay, but I think regular Wishes is better. They don't knock themselves out paying for an extraordinary fireworks spectacular.

The Christmas Country Bears, which weren't party-specific, but were a nice bonus, are long gone.

They do give away cookies and hot chocolate, but the cheapest cookies at your local grocery store bakery will be just as good (maybe better). Swiss Miss is as good as the hot chocolate - it's very watery. It is fun to stand on Main Street, sipping the hot chocolate and watching the parade. It just isn't worth $60+ IMO.

But, again, everyone should evaluate everything for themselves. :)

I have been to both MNSSHP (3 times) & the Christmas party (once). Much prefer Halloween, but did enjoy the Christmas party & will be booking both when we go again next year. I am sure that Santa in Magic Kingdom was the real deal!!

I like them both but I prefer the Xmas party. If I'm already paying for a trip to wdw, what's an extra $65? ($130 including my g/f). Even if I had a family of 4-5, I'd still do it. I mean its a Xmas party in Disney World! Can't get that just any where. I'm also a big holiday guy so maybe it's just me that feels this way.

Both times I've been, we only rode a couple rides, mostly went for the party only activities.

WDWMagic just reported that 11/8 sold out. I "bit the bullet" and purchased an AP ticket for 11/11. Never been and will already be at WDW over Veteran's Day weekend. Might as well experience at least once.

It also makes my schedule easier to plan -- less pressure to do EMH in MK until 2am on 11/10. More focus for me on AK and HS, maybe last of F&W in Epcot.

to us.. no. the lines were heavier for rides than the daytime hours.. the cookies and hot cocoa were icky and tasteless.. the "dance parties" were ok, but nothing worth the hundreds we paid for them.. and the parade was nice, but so crowded, barely able to see it.
For the money, I think the whole thing was way too crowded.. I think with the mb, they may actually throw out those who haven't paid the extra, so it may go back to being worth it..but when we went it was filled with those who knew better than to pay, and the lines for the rides, and the characters, were so long.. we felt like it was summer break.
