Thank you @Weather_Lady you just helped me officially decide without posting another question lol... I will do jiko and pay oop and on another day il do Cali grill brunch and use 2 credits for that :) getting excited now!
Very smart.

For anyone interested in the best "bang for your buck" dining plan credit uses, Google "best dining plan values." For some reason, the link is blocked. The only two-credit meal that is "worth" using the dining plan on is the California Grill brunch.

I find it ridiculous that people have to go to a web site to determine if a "meal plan" is worth it or not. Obviously, if it were really worth it, you wouldn't need web sites and calculators to determine if it is a value. Of course, everyone here knows that I detest all of the dining plans, but that just my opinion.

And it has jacked the prices....Canada may have the most overprized steaks for value... You would think it's Grill 23.

Small nuance, but I was referring to a site outlining the best use of dining credits once you have them, not an analysis of whether it's worth buying the DDP in the first place.

I also dislike the plans and only use them if I'm traveling with a CM friend and there's a special discount available.

Well, they have to make it look like the dining plan is a good deal, don't they? At least the TiW saves us 20%, so it brings the prices down a bit.

Yes, but if it were truly worth it, you wouldn't need a site outlining the best use.

That all depends on your definition of "worth." You can force it to be financially "worth it" if you use the sites outlining best use in the sense that you can get a certain selection of food for less money with the dining plan than if you paid cash for the exact same food.

The question then becomes whether you're actually getting any value when you're forcing yourself to modify your behavior in order to make the math work. Obviously we agree that such forced behavior modification eradicates the perceived financial value.

True, but worth it to me would mean that I purchase a dining plan, and then no matter what I order at whatever restaurant I am at, it saves me money. If I have to work at it to save money, or order steak and lobster at every restaurant, that isn't worth it at all, since we don't eat like that normally.

Obviously, some couldn't care less if it actually saves them money, because it is convenient. Never understood that one, and never will. o_O And in many cases, they are the same people that complain that a Disney vacation is expensive.

Worth 2 dining credits? Not really sure, but it is a MUST DO! The bread service is wonderful! We were going to sit at the "chef's bar" so to speak where they talk to you about the dish they prepare for you ( my DH and I), but we decided we wanted it to be a bit more romantic!:) Also, if you are wine drinkers.... Jiko has the best selection on property ( IMHO). So many choices!:) Enjoy!:)

We love Jiko...The food is fantastic!!! The short ribs...mmm. I also enjoy the Jam Jar South Africa house wine...We'll be there in June!

When we bought in the DVC, we chose AKL as our home because of Boma and Jiko!
