Is it weird I only do BTMRR at night?

GREAT time to watch the fireworks too. usually everyone is watching out on the streets and you can keep on riding while the firework show is going off.

Some rides are just better at night...I always ride Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Pirates at night but I might have to brave crossing the parade crowds on that side of the park to get to BTMRR next time I'm there.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!
Rode both Splash and thunder a between 12:30am and 1:00am last Friday aswel as doing both during the day also!

Night time was AWESOME, especially on Thunder as half the time you never see the dips coming :D

Also on our last ride on thunder I asked for the last seat and man that coaster throws you all over the place it was GREAT :D

Astro Orbiter is one of my favorites to do at night. I actually only ride that one at night. I think BTMRR is amazing at night. Splash during the fireworks is awesome as well.

really? That's a new one i've heard, will have to do it at night my next trip

Thunder at night in the last seat of the train is epic. Can't hardly see anything and it feels 10x faster.

You should def do Splash at night. I don't know why, but it seemed like the interior lights were a little dimmer as well - it made the ride seem a touch more sinister (although, it could have just been that the lights were broken - given Splash's history that's a possibility). Best part is that the top of the main drop is completely black, you fly past the flashing bulbs, and then back into total black. And from the top of the hill you can see the MK all lit up at night - it's stunning.

Yes, you get to see a small part of the park lit up at night, and you can see the castle briefly too. If you time it right as the parade goes through frontierland you can see the lit up floats.

"DO THEY MAKE IT FASTER AT NIGHT?!?!?!"

I'm a former CM at BTMRR and this question is easily in the top 10 of questions I would get everyday from both adults and kids.

The fastest part of BTMRR is the very back car of the train (particularly the very last row).

Nighttime on BTMRR does however create what I like to call the "Space Mountain Effect" which is that it simply feels faster because the darkness keeps you from seeing where you're going. Some swear that Space is faster than BTMRR but as a matter of fact, Space's top speed is 27mph and BTMRR's top speed is about 35mph (day or night LOL). Space only feels faster because of the pitch black, once again reinforcing the "Space Mountain Effect".

After all that I do in fact agree though, BTMRR is a lot of fun at night lol. I should know, I've been on that ride more times than any other ride on property.

This is a great tidbit :D, well for me anyway. We weren't able to do this on our first visit. I'm going to make sure my son and I ride this in December at night.

Night time is my favorite time in the parks. You won't really see me get up for rope drop but I can easily be one of the last guests out of the park at night. BTMRR is one of my favorite night time attractions. The evening lighting really makes it better to me. Even Tomorrowland looks a lot better at night.
