Is it possible to have Magical Express take your luggage to the resort if you don't use the bus?

I had a crazy idea for my first day..

Our flight lands very early our first day (like 9am) and I was thinking of catching a cab from the airport to Universal to check out Diagon Alley before heading to Pop Century. Is it possible to use the Magical Express to take our luggage from the airport to the Pop Century if we don't use the actual magical express bus to go to pop? We would be taking a cab to universal then a cab to pop around to arrive around 6pm.

No. At least one member of your party must ride the bus for them to transport your luggage to your resort.

We have landed and rented a car and had our luggage delivered. Did this about a year ago or so.

Now that magic bands are scanned, I think the system would look for you to have scanned before they transport luggage.

Officially, you must have at least one person get on the DME bus for your luggage to be transported.

Unofficially, it's a,gamble. It will most likely get through, but are you willing to risk the chance that it doesn't?

Are you talking checked bags? If so those should have your resort luggage tags on them before you get on the plane and they should be brought to your room regardless if you take the DME or not.

If you are talking carry-on bags? Then somebody would need to accompany them to check them into bell services when you get to the hotel for them to hold onto until your room is ready. Otherwise the DME driver just puts them on the sidewalk outside of the bus.

LOL I would love to do this. Dragging that luggage through the terminal with 2 kids and a baby to the car rental company really sucks
