Is it just me, or has Space Ranger Spin been stalling?

When I went on the ride, it had stopped for some reason. I was talking to someone I knew, and they said that when they went on the ride, it stopped as well! Has anyone else had this problem lately?

What most guest don't realize is that 9 times out of 10 a ride stops because of other guests. Sometimes it's because of guest with disabilities, but mostly because of able-bodied (but not able-minded) tourists, not getting in or out fast enough.

I've witnessed people sitting in an omnimover all the way until the end of an unload belt with a Cast Member encouraging them to get out. Often times the response from the guest is, "Oh. Is this where we get off?"

If an Omnimover ride system slows to a gentle stop (Buzz, Mansion, Under the Sea, Spaceship Earth, Nemo) then it was a normal ride stoppage instituted by a Cast Member at the Load or Unload belts. If it screeches to a sudden stop on a dime, it's because of an intrusion alarm (or every once in a while a sensor mis-read) along the ride track and the ride E-stopped.

In all the years I've been going to WDW, an Omnimover e-stop has only ever happened to me once, on Spaceship Earth. It was the 1994 version and we were stopped in the backwards part right near the classroom. Worklights came on and the CM's walked the track. Eventually we were restarted.

The stoppages have actually lessened to some degree ever since they installed "creep" mode on the Omnimovers. For some Guests who just need a *little* more time getting in and out of their vehicles, they can slow the ride to a crawl without fully stopping it to give them more time as it passes along the Load/Unload belt. But for wheelchairs where the Guest has to transfer they typically have to stop the attraction. (Though I think some of the newer ride systems that have dedicated wheelchair vehicles can successfully load a chair in creep mode...)
