Is It Autumn Yet?

Oh, my gosh! It's so early to be complaining about summer!

Summer is great. Blue skies, sunshine, flowers, green grass and leaves. Warm skin, cookouts, bonfires, s'mores! Swimming, tennis, long walks at night, kissing under the stars...

No snow! :D

(I just can't complain yet. Get back to you in August!)

Although I do hate the traffic and stupid tourists the season brings, my area kind of needs their money right now.
This^ Stupid tourists. Now don't get me wrong, I love tourists. They help our town survive. Actually, Autumn is our busiest time of year business-wise (yet another reason why I love that time of year). Summer is only our 2nd busiest time of year, yet during summer, it's the crazies that come up here! More problems. More domestic fights. More law enforcement having to come on business property to handle unruly guests (and this is a "safe" town). Just filthy druken problems...A LOT. July is actually the worst month for that though.

Autumn is completely different. Oct, Nov, & Dec are our best months out of the year. The guests are terrific! Families, newlyweds, retirees, decent couples who aren't here to kill one another & drink 'til their eyes change colors. Fall is a heavenly time of year. It's the busiest, yet less stressful. The town is PACKED with people, yet the police probably twiddle their thumbs outta boredom. No problems. No idiots. Just an excellent crowd of folks all around. Why can't summer be like this? What crevice do these June/July visitors emerge from? (I'd hate to imagine).

I blame the heat on all the fights & other forms of lunacy which break out during the summer season. It's not the traffic that sparks the angered craziness (Autumn's traffic is 10x worse, yet people are happy & coherent). So it has to be the weather.

I live in a beach town so everything is based around summer. I don't think the people who are still coming because of Jersey Shore though are any less morons in the fall. NJ is not known for having understanding drivers anytime of the year. We just hate everyone with out of state plates year round.

My town doesn't get the worst of the tourists, but dear god are some of them dumb. Someone asked me on the beach where the roller coaster in the ocean went. Told them the one in Seaside was demolished last month. They asked, "Well, what about the one that was here?" They thought all the shore towns had one...

Maybe you are right and it was the heat. My theory is the hair gel seeped into their brain after over applying it for so many years.

Tell me about it. I hate the summer because everything is hot, bugs are everywhere and if it's cloudy but not raining, then it's humid! I'd rather live in the Northwest or the Bay Area for just the summer because it's not that scorching hot over there generally!
