Is Innoventions in its final stages?

Do to all the closures I'm starting to suspect that once all the contacts and sponsorships end the space that is now known as Innoventions is going to go under another 1994 like overhaul. Just my suspicions, it appears to me that there just letting everything run its course at this point until I they overhaul, demolish or at least such a reface the buildings would be barely recognizable.

Demolish would be very difficult as there are offices, kitchens, storage areas, pluming and HVAC units and more all running in the tunnels under both Innoventions areas.

Yes
Seeing as it's the only FW attraction other than UoE that closes at 7:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM and it only has three exhibits left, I'd say yes. But it's a Disney yes; it will continue to be in this sorry state for years while nobody notices.

I do think Innoventions is in its final stages due to Disney's negligence for allowing the technology part be out of date.

Innoventions back in 1997 was a great thing to see just like Communicore was back in the early 1990's. The big question is going to be what Disney should do first in Future World because a lot of it seen its better days. Future World was really great back in the early 1990's, but I thought the decline of Future World Started in the late 1990's with the close of the original imagination ride.

The Big Trouble Spots to me in Future World are Innoventions, Imagination Pavilion, Wonders of Life, and Universe of Energy. The only reason I didn't mention the seas as a big trouble spot is most the Pavilion isn't the issue as much as the Nemo Ride is.

True, but at least such a transformation they would be totally unrecognizable. They are starting to look pretty dated and just like your average 90's office building.

Communicore lasted for 12 years before TDO decided that it was stale and needed something new and hip.

Innoventions has been around for 22 years....and TDO is now just willing to let it linger. If Innoventions was a horse, PETA would be suing TDO to have it put down already and end its misery.

I thought the same thing but the Glidden Colortopia recently opened. Does anyone know how long that contract is for?

It's a shame they are letting it just sit empty. It was great back in the day. After the segways closed I haven't been in there other than to walk through to cool off, get my passholder wine glass and stamps last fall and to utilize the Chase Visa Photo.

Sum of all thrills was actually a decent attraction. I would not be sad if it was able to live on elsewhere (SGE?) and the energy house of tomorrow (or whatever it was called) was interesting too. Whatever happens to Innoventions I hope that it is not turned into yet another "acceptable" empty unused space.

Wouldn't be surprised to see it all turned into a character meet and greet or other lazy bandaid.

If it were used for its original intent and new technology was featured, I'd actually spend some time there like I used to.

What a shame for it to completely die. I guess it's the new Disney way...wait until it's completely unacceptable and then keep it open for no apparent reason.

No
I've felt it's been at its final stages for a long time now. I used to love going in there, but it's just stagnant now, and has been for years. I loved the Segway exhibit as well, and now that it's gone, we pretty much just walk through to get cool or to get where we're going. We don't look at the exhibits more than passing glances.

Innoventions needs to get sponsored by a lot of companies and make it like a world's fair, basically like they sort of wanted to do from the beginning. When I have more cutting edge tech than a place called Innoventions, well, something is wrong. Get a Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, Nikon, Cannon, etc... both going in there and have them show off their current and even prototype/concept (well, that may be saved for other tech shows) tech. Yeah, it may be like a big showroom, but that's basically what the world's fair was. Just put Apple in a corner, I can't stand to see another hopeless attempt at trying to convince people the Apple Watch is the future.

There must be a bigger plan. Or, at least, I hope. They can get away with having Wonders of Life closed. But closing Innoventions would be logistically irresponsible. The past 6 months have brought accelerated closures in that space. Something must be going on.

I just got my Disney passes about a year ago and had never been to Epcot prior to getting them, so I never got to see Innoventions in its prime.

However what is there now, in my opinion is a waste of space. One side is turning into a big Meet & Greet and the other side has attractions that I really don't plan on doing again.

Future World has a ton of empty space, if you count these two as empty buildings. Also, even more if they ever do something different with Universe of Energy. What can they put in these two buildings other than Meet & Greets or small attractions like they currently hold? I am not sure of how big these buildings truly are.

Both Innoventions East and West are MASSIVE, as were all of the original Epcot Center pavilions. If Disney doesn't continue with corporate exhibits like in the past, which is most likely, I can see them moving the festival center there instead of WoL, as other posters have said
