i remember going to disney world when it was just magic kingdom, back in the late 70's. i was around 7 years old at the time and don't remember any of the "impatient" people.

i'm sure that there were some, but as a kid i was so caught up in the "magic" of disney that i'm sure i didn't notice it.

that's the spirit i'm taking with me when i go back in september. just being that 7 year old again and getting caught up in the "magic" of disney. i'm not going to let "impatient" people spoil my time there.

i'm going to go out of my way, as well, to keep a list of the cm's that do a great job in keeping it magical for my trip there and at the end of it i'm going to stop by guest relations and fill out the info on letting disney know that the cm's did a great job!

I was born in 70 and had the same experience. If I did something that disrespected someone else, my dad always corrected it. It was simple. He'd take his belt off and whack me. There were times to be rowdy (back at the Fort Wilderness running through the woods) and there were times to be good (at MK and most definitely when being banished to the Contemporary).

manners

Stayed at SSR April 15-April 22 this year and could not believe the way some guy acted over a bus. Yes the buses were running a little slower than normal but it was the height of Spring Break. You have to expect that during busier times the wait could be a little longer. He was extremely loud and vey animated while he was speaking to a CM that happened to be there (I assumed monitoring the buses, as she was there watching and had a clip board). His wife looked mortified. I was embarassed for her and her family. He looked lik a total a**. Mind you everyone else at the stop had been there for a good twenty minutes and never said boo. He was there all of 5-10 minutes and then when the bus did come, he raced in front of everyone that had been waiting like he was entitled. :fork:

Remember the old saying "Manners Maketh Man" !!!

People don't know what respect is anymore. They don't even respect themselves. They definitely do not have any manners. They have also forgotten the most important words, PLEASE and THANK YOU.

Amen to that.. Just urks me to open a door for me and man will bust in front of me and NEVER say thank you. I just holler back THANK YOU FOR HOLDING THE DOOR nicely just in my outside voice. My customers are getting worse and they think they are my only ones who order anything. We have to build it first then paint it and have many others ahead of them. But they think that it doesn't pertain to them when it says up to 6 weeks. I am not saying everyone and putting any of you in this catagory but it seems to be people from NJ, New York, ares where time is an issue to them with all the commuting etc.

Yes I think that more thrill rides (not knocking thrill rides I love them) and fast passes have brought a differant type of person to Disney then those who came years ago. I was always amazed that people stood in lines sometimes for hrs. without companing. When I went to disney Paris I was shooked by the pushing in lines and yelling at the cast members. Sadly WDW is now like that. I still love to go but it does take away from the magic.

I think the patience of people in general is waning big time. With all the technology we have at our fingertips every one wants things now and don't like waiting. WDW is a prime example, I don't know what exactly guests expect. You should know what you're getting into when you book the vacation. It's the most traveled place in the United States, and the most visited theme park in the entire world.

Though sad but true, society in general gets nastier with each passing day. And unforntunately they take that same nastiness to the place where we're all going to escape from it, WDW. What gets me is that those same very nasty people are the first ones to expect an "excuse me, please, thank you and your welcome". Thank God I do Disney for what Disney is and NOT for the people.
