Is gimbal/gopro stabilizer banned?

Just a quick question, I wonder if gimbal is banned from Disney World? It's a non-extended hand grip basically. Something like this

Does anyone have any experience taking it pass the security check point?

I don't think so, we saw tons of them last month.

Direct from the Park Rules under Prohibited Items:

j. Selfie Sticks (hand-held extension poles for cameras and mobile devices).

Worse case is that you will have to show that it doesn't extend if questioned about the item by a Security Cast Member. I have also observed several of these in open use so it doesn't appear they are any trouble.

Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing for these checks.

We had an ugly situation last month that escalated simply because frontline cast members don't know what is a selfi stick and what is a monopod.

I saw them too in Disneyland, but I keep hearing mixed responds.

I think what they really need to do is to give cast members a proper education, so they can differentiate a selfie stick from a non-selfie stick accessories/tech/gadget.
