IS FJ going down for re-furb soon

The rumor is May. It is mostly to work on the locker situation. We've heard 3D won't be part of the refurb.

I thought the permit was for scene 8? Is that the locker room? Others posted that it was the dementors.

I do hope it is the lockers, I only used them once since open and said never again, I am not claustrophobic but I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Com'n Jo, let them pipe some AC in there please? We are NOT in Scotland

No. The whole ride is going down. There will be some minor changes (lighting tweaks) and general maintenance. The real on ride chafe will be upgrades to the dementor scene. This is basically just a major tune up.

Hopefully it's to add some lighting...I found that area to be too dark to be able to make out what was actually happening.

Scene 8 is indeed the dementor scene, according to schematics. It's the one scene that was the most upgraded in Hollywood, with new dementor figures, but without the "Kiss" effect (unsurprisingly). I've only seen the Hollywood FJ and I fear I may never get the chance to see that effect in Orlando before it's gone for good.

That is too bad, I think the guests would have better satisfaction from getting the lockers right rather than getting dementors in the scene but that is what you get on a short refurb. Lockers would take 3 months. Maybe after Kong and Hulk are open.

If you're referring to the effect where guests see their faces in the mist, that's already been gone for quite a while.

I haven't seen Hollywood's version of the ride, so I don't know how exactly they upgraded the dementor scene, but making some "additions" to Orlando's would consist of little more than turning on some lights.
