Is Feb-14 to Feb-21 a good time go

We were all set to take advantage of the buy 4 nights and get 3 free for the week of Feb-14 since our kid's b-day is on Feb-18 (we have triplets) until our friends reminded us that the president's day is on Feb-16.

Is this a bad week due to crowds? Kids will be 6 and this is our first visit to WDW. I was hoping to go during a less crowded time. We obviously would like to take advantage of this deal and the $200 gift cert that comes with it.

We could also go Feb-7 to Feb-14 but we won't be able to take advantage of the free admission on b-day.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
Fred

Thanks for your reply.

So what would you guess will be the avg. wait time for rides during president's week. Also my guess is that president's week this year may not be as busy due to economic downturn.

I agree with Monty. For February it's a busy week, but it's still not as bad as other times of year. You will want to book it as soon as you can to get the best selection for hotels. :)

we go every year in February, and it does get quite crowded during President's week.

However, as long as you plan, you shouldn't have any problems doing the things you want to do.

Busy, but not as bad as Easter or Christmas. Earlier in February it is very nice, but with the Super Bowl in Tampa this year, all bets are off! :animwink:

It is a pretty busy week. Room rates switch from value to peak on 2/12/2009. I would move to the 2/7-2/14 dates and you will more than likely make up for that free ticket just on what you pay for the room ($53/day difference at a value resort) and have smaller crowds to boot.

I would not count on it. We were hoping the same thing for our recent trip, but the crowds were just as bad if not worse as the same week we went two years ago. I would guess that if Disney happens to see a significant drop in crowds (I'm not so sure they even will), it would be later in the year. Alot of people have had their early 2009 trips booked and paid for for awhile now, and with this buy 4 get 3 free special, I would not expect low crowds.

I have a different opinion than most of the other posters....if it were me, I would give up the free admission on the bdays in order to avoid the President's Day weekend crowds....no question about it. Yes, they will not be as bad as summer crowds or Christmas crowds, but it will still be pretty crowded.

I guess it depends on your "crowd tolerance". For my family, the crowd level of President's weekend is too much. But it does not bother others.

But either way, you will have a blast!

Regarding Pres. Day Week

I would recommend going the week prior. We just returned 12/24/08 and there is no sign of a economic downturn in the Parks. There were numerous foreign visitors in the All Stars Resorts and in the Parks. The wait times for some rides on the 23rd were 110 minutes. I don't forsee the slow down affecting Disney as of yet. Have a good time which ever dates you choose.
