Is Disney Quest Worth it?

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney World in early March. We get in to Orlando around 3:30pm. We are staying at a family members condo. We are aiming to be to Disney Springs by 5:30 at the latest on Sunday (3/6). My boyfriend likes interactive games and playing old school video games. However, he is also cautious about money. We don't want to break the bank He also has never been to Disney. Is spending the $45 worth it? Or should we skip? Is there discounted tickets past a certain hour?

Any advice would be great.

How does one simply "get in for free"
You don't, but even if you could the place would still be a waste of time.

The headlining games are less advanced than a Wii.

The classic games are often in a state of dis-repair if they work at all.

The food is edible at best.

The Dave and Buster's on I-drive would absolutely blow DQ away in every category.

The Magic Your Way package in 2015 included coupons for free admission to Disney Quest. Not sure if they do in 2016.

Still, even then DQ is a waste of time.

When we get in free we spend a couple of hours there with the kids and it's a welcome break - but we usually go when the parks close early so it's pretty much our only option if we want to be out and about. I wholeheartedly agree that it's a waste of time if (1) you are paying or (2) you are only grown ups and have other options to occupy your time. With the kids it gets us out of the stores and away from merchandise for a short while which is nice.

It doesn't look like they do, unless I am missing something??

It used to be included in the "Magical Extras" along with the minigolf vouchers and watersport coupons. They may have discontinued it. The "Magical Extras" are part of the perks for staying onsite. It was also included in the Waterparks & More option but I'm not seeing it there either.

I could not in good conscious recommend it even with the kids (I have 3).

The place was beyond awesome when it opened in 1998. To my knowledge, it has not received a notable update since it opened. They have however closed several attractions with no replacement.

It could almost be nostalgic if they kept up with the place, but they don't. It is the Disney equivalent of a run down amusement park. The only thing missing is a bunch of meddling kids to pull the mask off of old man Witherspoon.;)

In your shoes, I definitely wouldn't pay for it. 5:30 is a good time to head in for a nice dinner (lots of new options, inexpensive or fancy) and soak in all that is new for you in Disney Springs, and new for your boyfriend in general. :) If you want to do something special, maybe try Characters in Flight, the hot air balloon thing, for much less than Disney Quest), or break the bank for something really worth it, like La Nouba. ;)

My husband can be a gaming geek and thought Disney Quest was, for the most part, pretty lame...lol.

It's a 5 story arcade. If you like arcades, it's for you.

My son and I went because it was part of our resort package.

He liked it and would go back.

I did not but I don't like arcades, although the Pirates of the Caribbean game/interactive ride was fun.

If you are looking to spend $$$, go to Splitsville. Food is good and have fun bowling. I may be there to watch the Super Bowl in a couple weeks.

We were in there for the first time about a year ago and were very disappointed. Everything was dark, dirty, and in disarray. We are huge pinball fans and were looking for a place to play a few games since the closing of the Tomorrow Land arcade. We had the parks and more option so we figured there was nothing to lose. The build your own rollercoaster was kind of cool but not worth the time spent.

We enjoy Disney Springs on our arrival day each trip. Never have done Quest and now it sounds like we never will, just doesn't appeal to me, but I have 4 teenagers. My sons are gamers, but if it's like a Wii, then they would not like anyway. For our trip in July we're going to the dine in movie theater, something we've never done. There's also Splitsville if you like bowling and the hot air balloon, but you only go up then down, no flying around of course.
