Is Disney Quest worth going to?

I went in 2009 and it was okay. The guy I was with really enjoyed it. My fiance and I are going to WDW in December and he was interested in going to Disney Quest. I've heard some mixed reviews recently. Is it worth taking a park day to do? Will he enjoy it? He's a paintballer - not sure if that makes a difference. What do you guys think?

If your fiance isn't seriously into arcade games then you can safely skip it. There's a design your own roller coaster attraction that you can then ride in a full motion simulator that's sort of fun. Also a souped up bumper car ride that also uses a ball cannon to shoot at other vehicles that I thought was novel. Beyond that, it's an arcade on steriods. I personally wouldn't want to spend an entire day there, and that's coming from a gamer.

2-3 hours there was more than enough for me.

I haven't been there since the early 2000s when it was relatively new and I was a kid (13). I found it pretty fun then and was entertained for a few hours. But I saw dad's bill for it and even then, I didn't think what you get is worth the price of admission. I would have rather spent my time in the parks. If you like Downtown Disney though, it might be something fun to check out for a few hours as well as exploring the rest of DTD

DisneyQuest is open daily from 11:30 a.m. until midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. So you wouldn't have to take a park day. Go in the evening and check it out if you want. But if you went to AK for the day and if it closed down at about 5ish then you would have plenty of time to go over and check it out again. I have been and enjoyed it. I like video games alot though so that might have helped. So if he is any type of gammer then he should have fun. But about 4 hours seems to be enough for most people to have some fun there.

We had fun for a few hours. I'm glad we tried it when we had upgraded passes at no extra cost. I wouldn't have wanted to pay what they charge. Kids and teens will enjoy it more than adults and I don't know how much I would have enjoyed it myself had we not had my two nieces (7 and 11) with us.

In short, no. If I was given free tickets I would probably still find something better to do with my time and this is coming from a computer game junkie. I can go into more depth if you like, but I feel a bit like a broken record on the subject at times.

Since we all seem to have been there and won't be going back, what would any one like to see Disney Quest replaced with? It would seem to be a valuable piece of real estate but I'm not sure what it would take for me to hike all the way over there.

I honestly think they could make it a great place if they decided to first and foremost update the games/install new games that are with the times. I get that they can't be updating all the time as tech is always changing but still...I've seen for instance what they are doing with the new Epic Mickey game (not sure if anyone gets games for their kids but it's a great one). If they could somehow make a mini version of that, it would be spectacular. They would also just need to clean the whole building up and replace the things that have worn down (again haven't been there myself since it was relatively new but reading comments, it seems to have fallen into a bit of disrepair).

Barring that, I'm not sure exactly what I'd want to see replacing it. Maybe some sort of more adult geared show? (Adult...I know, haha, dare to dream, but I'm not wanting a strip club by any means). I just can think of some Vegas shows I've seen that were appropriate for (depending on the show) 8-12 and up. Though I'm not saying I want Disney to be Vegas either. Ahhhhh. ;) I've seen La Nouba and while I enjoyed it, I'd love for a new high end show to come to Disney. Though I'm sure the people over at Cirque would be wary of something else like that going in.

I'd say a restaurant as well, but that just seems kind of boring and I'd rather see Disney doing something innovative...unless the restaurant was very very unique.

What I wouldn't want to see is more stores...Disney has enough stores....

Sadly, I'll say no too. I have only been once. it was a couple years ago...probably 2008. I went with my little brother who would've been 10 at the time. He had a decent time but not great. Maybe it's gotten better since then, but if not then I would say it's not worth it.

Also worth noting that this was during my CP days and I think we got in free because of it.

No. I've given it one too many chances.

I just don't find it fun at all. It's loud, hot, dark, dirty, and smelly. The games aren't worth the race. The most exciting thing for me were the old arcade games (Mario Bros., Pac-Man, etc.) near... I think some Buzz Lightyear thing?

I am fine with the concept but the attractions and games have to be updated frequently and maintained properly. When your E-ticket video games have lower quality graphics than a Wii it is about 10 steps beyond an utter embarrassment. A classic arcade it great but not when 90% of the games have busted controllers and CRTs with severe burn in and dropped colors. At thins point gutting everything and replacing it with nothing more that Xboxes, PS3s and Wiis would be a huge leap forward.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Don't go. It's one of the (if not THE) biggest wastes of time on WDW property. Do your part in helping attendance drop so they are faced with either having to update and maintain it (as I believe was intended to be done anyways) or replace it with something else.

I have been meaning to visit it since 2000, but just never thought an arcade was worth such a huge entrance fee. However, this year I'll be upgrading my Disneyland Premium annual pass to the Premier before I go to Disney World, so I can justify a visit. I'm looking forward to it, regardless of how much others seem to dislike it. In my mind, there's no way it could be worse than, say, the one-two punch of sitting through Lights, Motors, Action! and American Idol Experience. Fortunately, I've never had to do that (just the former, and I'll most likely NEVER do it again).
Besides, to paraphrase Ariel, how could a a place that's filled with so many wonderful video games...be bad?

Sad but true...DisneyQuest is closer to a Zombie attraction than anything else at WDW (and that's saying something)

Two reasons for popping in.

First reason is if you happen to be at downtown in the first place and the skies open up,and second, you can put it in your list,Seen it,Done it.

Minority

I guess I'm in the minority here, but we always stop into DisneyQuest when we are in The World. True, it is definately not an all-day attraction, but we find it fun to play the games with the kids for a few hours. We have a teen and two pre-teens, and this is a place where there is "stuff" that we can all do together (river-rafting, build your own rollercoaster, skee-ball, cannon bumper cars...). It also really fun to show our Wii/X-box/PS3 kids the types of games that we played when we were kids.

DisneyQuest fits in nicely if you're spending a day at Downtown. What we do is arrive early for some shopping, then lunch, then DisneyQuest, then dinner, then Cirque. It actually makes for a really nice day!

not worth it

disney quest is a waste of time and money, shopping at the disney stores is nice, better of going to a water park, also some of those kiosk outside park have water parks for 25 - 30 dollars and are legit.
