For me personally it is worth every single penny. I cannot begin to even describe the feeling I get the second I hear the audio from the resort bus heading to AK. Walking up to the "Welcome to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Have a Wild Time!" sign, the official AK entrance sign it completely immerses me into this other land. Walking down toward the Tree of Life for the first time entering, hearing the sounds of water and animals throughout the entire park, literally I could go on for hours.
Many people go here as a "half day" park, personally it's the complete opposite. There's so much to do so much to see, plenty of hidden areas and gems throughout the park. Expedition Everest, what a great roller coaster one of my favorites of all time. Ever take a seat on a bench and just look around at the detail surrounding you? The intricate details on the buildings, ground etc.
How about Kiliminjaro Safaris, the largest 'attraction' on Disney property. No where else in this world can you find a man made Savannah with most animals roaming free, others yes en caged like a zoo, but no where close IMO. Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, with beautiful animals and who can forget, tigers. You also have the Wild Africa Trek and experience the Savannah to a whole new level(yes extra money but well worth it I'm sure) What about the hidden gem; Rafikis Planet Watch. Take a free sneak peek into where the animals are at night, how they care for them and if you're lucky like I was you can actually experience veterinarians working on an animal.
Shows, rides, atmosphere are all here in this park. I've yet to even go into detail about the rest of the park because there is a ton more to do. Well, I guess you could say I'm a park guest that imagineers love. Going to the parks is one thing, going to the parks and actually submersing yourself into the experience and story are two different things. So, yes Animal Kingdom is worth it to me 100000%
