Does anybody have experience with an IPhone camera at WDW? I like the pictures that it takes in good sunlight or indoors but in really haven't tried it in low-light conditions or dark. Any review, opinion or caution would be great. Thanks

An IPhone camera is awful anywhere. It was one of the reasons I ditched mine before my 2 free weeks with AT&T were up.

I think i've finally admitted to myself that combo-devices will always fail at something. They're be primarily one thing, but attempt to be another and fail miserably.

For example, my new camera takes wonderful photos, but tries to be a video camera which does have high quality video images - but totally destroys the sound *sigh*

Suppose one day they'll get it right?

I beg to differ. The Sony Ericsson K790 is an excellent camera/phone. It has a 3.2MP Sony Cybershot built-in with focus-assist and xenon flash. I use it all the time when my DSLR isn't with me.

So, yes, some camera phones can take good pictures. But not the iPhone :drevil:

Jennifer Marx from Passporter blogged this years Mousefest via her iPhone, photos and all, and I thought they were fairly good quality.

Web quality yes, real world quality? No.

JROK, your camera phone officially counts as a POS camera. Those pictures aren't completely sharp. Stick with the dSLR, you're better with it.

Overall, Pretty much what irish said. You want WDW pix? Use a camera.

I have to agree with everyone who suggests you should not consider the iPhone as your camera when visiting WDW. Like most cell phone cameras, the picture quality is mediocre at best and that's only when the conditions are nearly perfect. I've taken a few photos with mine since I got it to see what it could do but for the most part was very unhappy with the quality of what came out of it.

I find cell phone cameras to be generally useless except for rare situations when something suddenly happens that you need a photo of and you didn't bring a camera with you. For example, if you have a car wreck and don't have your camera with you, it's a reasonable choice; other than that I'd avoid using that feature completely.

I would suggest if your planning to take pictures, bring a dedicated purpose camera along; you'll be much happier with the results.

I know that it's not a replacement for my DSLR, but it certainly is sufficient enough for when I either can't bring my DSLR (the concert) or when I don't have it with me. By no means am I implying that you should just bring your cell phone to Disney, but am saying that some camera phones are pretty good when it comes to taking photos in a pinch. I would've never been able to grab the pic of me at Indiana Jones because I wasn't able to bring my DSLR, but at least I have a photo of me in costume.

I guess, it's better than nothing.
