No,it's not one of those spammy sales pitches!

Just wondering if anyone is interested in the new iPhone that's being released soon...Are you buying?Excited? Not Excited?

I'm leaning to getting the 199$ one with some B-Day money.

Post away!

I'm looking at the 16G version. The rates here in Canada are horrid by comparison to yours, but not drastically so. I need to find out about roaming data packages so I can use it in the U.S., but it's not looking good on that front.

I may buy it next Friday or perhaps wait a bit to see if they get cheaper rates... Still undecided about when, but not about if.

I actually think they lowered it...30$ isn't that bad compared to the old rates.
Actually, AT&T is charging $30 + a minimum phone plan of $39.99 for a minimum of $69.99. The original iPhone I think had a basic total of $59.99. I could be wrong.

Here, the lowest plan is $60.00 with a 400MB data cap [doesn't include WiFi access, just the 3G network has the cap], 150 anytime minutes [unlimited after 9PM until 7AM and weekends] and 75 SMS messages sent. Visual voicemail and unlimited access at Rogers or Fido WiFi hotspots, after the cap, it's 50¢/MB for the first 60MB and 3¢/MB thereafter, extra minutes calling are 35¢ and extra SMS are 15¢.

We have no unlimited data plans, the largest limit is with the $115 package at 2Gb.

That's odd...They attendant in the Apple Store said something about just adding $30 on to your regular bill...*Goes to website to research*

I dunno about buying on Friday...Think it will be crowded?

The AT&T site says:

"Add a Consumer Data Plan for iPhone 3G to a qualified voice plan for $30 per month."

The question is how much does your current voice plan cost and is it a 'qualified' plan? If it's more than $39.99, then it meets the pricing I quoted earlier.

EDIT: I just checked on AT&T's site and the least expensive voice plan is $39.99

Nope, I'm with Verizon, AT&T gets no service here, I don't want to pay $75 a month for what I can get much cheaper with Verizon, and I'm happy with my Blackberry Pearl.

You end up paying more per month to defray the initial cost. I'd love to have one, but I'll we waiting at least another year to see what happens with the price.

I'm waiting for the Blackberry Bold....
DH is of the same mindset as you. Though he's thinking about the Curve. We don't know enough about the Bold to decide to wait for it.

I had heard that the newer, more inexpensive one will actually wind up costing you more, after monthly fees and necessary packages.

Personally, I got an Instict. Didn't have to switch providers to one that would give me a lot more dropped calls, and the package we have isn't that bad of a price I'd say. :)

I went to the ATT store today and got the same info...That's a bit too much for me...I think I would rather put my 200 and monthly bill to a WDW trip.

Forget I ever started the thread!

I'm not remotely interested :)

And now,neither am I:lol:

I checked today and I can get a 16G iPhone for $224 as an upgrade instead of the advertised $299... I would only pay $8 more than I am now per month... I might just go for it!

No, no iphone thingy for me. I just want my phone to work when I need to call someone and if someone is calling me. I've never even texted anyone before.

I really love technology but this is one thing I just don't need in my life!

I'll be buying this device in August. The pricing plans are standard for Smartphones, so for an iPhone, that's aweosme... paying a normal monthly plan for a far more superior device.

I'm just mildly worried about being tied to AT&T for two years, but that'll be the case anywhere I go.

I won't buy the next iPhone until my current 4GB one kicks the bucket!
But... BIGGER/BETTER/FASTER! :ROFLOL:
