IoA is illconceived. the rides maybe great but when you have 3 major rides as water rides (Disney only has 2, spread throughout the whole "world") is asking for trouble.

Summers: too hot, long lines for water rides. lines too long, making lines for everything else longer.

Winters: too cool for water rides, lines are short. too cool, lines for other rides longer.

IoA is all thrills with HARDLY any simple rides (Teacups, Primevil Whirkl, Dumbo, etc) to counter balance. Great idea on paper but in actually thinking no way.

we went to IoA once. it was after September 11th, 2001. we had said if it wasn't for that we wouldn't have done everything that we did.

Actually IoA is very well done and very well balanced. Of course they have thrills, Hulk, Dueling Dragons and Spiderman. They also have the best water rides in the world, Jurassic Park, Dudley Do-rights and Popeyes. But they also have some great small or kid rides, Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Carosusel, Storm Force, Ptyeradon (sp?) Flyers, Flying Unicorn, need I go on? Also yes the lines might be lone during the summer, but thats what the awesome Express pass is for

I actually do like universal (their HHN's are always awesome) but alas it is rare for me to visit their more than 2 times a year. The problem with IOA is that all they have is thrill rides. Their are only a handful of rides that dont require some sort of height requirement. The sad fact is that a lot of people come to theme parks strictly for the little kids. If universal wants to really start competing with disney they need to add in some mid level dark rides that focus more on story and less on physical thrill. Their were a couple of rides they did come up with at IOA that never got off the board. Their was going to be a simpsons ride in toon lagoon which involved the OTTOmobile taking you through Springfield. Everyone was on board except 20th century fox execs. Also their was the mcbean car machines which had a track built but never opened although it still could. Last but not least Storm Force was supposed to be an indoor ride with smoke and lighting effects as well as spinning to make it the ultimate teacup. Budgets got trimmed for this though.

bartman454 I see your point, but I believe that IoA and Universal Studios do a great job in competing with Disney, they take the thrill seekers and many teens, also I was just there a saw a million little kids, so I think they are doing ok
