IoA expansion?

After all three of the Studio's new rides open, I would expect an announcement. Most rumors point to Jurassic Park as the new ride's location but there are still rumors about the Driving Machines in Suess Landing FINALLY opening as well.

I heard that they aren't going to have a ride for a while because right now they're working on Universal Orlando. I heard at least for 1 or 2 more years.

Just a quick correction here... Universal Orlando is the name of the entire resort complex that contains Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I think what you meant to say was, "they are working on Universal Studios for another 2 years." Sorry but I am the name nazi. :)

Well, assuming Jurassic Park would be the place for the next addition, what type of attraction do you think it will be?

I would think either some sort of Jeep ride, kind of like Indiana Jones and Dinosaur.

My other guess would be some sort of roller coaster, maybe themed to the huge birdcage from the third movie.

Any other ideas or possibilities?

I'm gonna keep this upcoming statement post really, really short, and I ain't saying nothin' more about IOA's upcoming attraction line-up than this:

2005

While I don't have the insight as phenix does, but there is one thing I know:

Your mother ship is going down, you are about to be sold, and you are worsening every day, would you go out and splurge on a new ride?

I doubt it. I HIGHLY doubt that IoA, let alone USF after Mummy, will get a new ride in any form. It's gotten to the point to re-doing Sylvester instead of a new ride.

That's a assumption made from the outside looking in. Universal Orlando's attendance is up, revenues are up, and resort bookings are up. They have an investment group that is not very afraid of spending money on amusement parks, and are overseen by a division of Universal Studios that will operate as normal no matter who eventually owns them.

Not building a new attraction at UO would be like the actual movie studio canning The Fast and the Furious 2.

This isn't the first time that Universal has had a new owner, and it certainly won't be the last.

pheneix, Do you have any idea when the "2005 IOA ride" will be announced? I know the USF Mummy announcement is coming sometime in May. Is there a chance that they will mention this then?

Probably not this year, and definitely not until another big tourism convention like the upcoming one where The Mummy is being announced.

That does make sense. Even though that coincides, i still think Jurassic Park is where the new ride will be. I guess we can only wait and see.

So that means that after the mummy is done. They are going back to IOA??

Uhm.. I still think there is a lot of work to be done in Universal Studios...

i think it's becoming Antique. Ride wise.
I don't know but thats just my opinion.

Looks like his baby brother(IoA) is getting all the attention...

I don't know about you guys, but I've been to IOA quite a few times now and it's beginning to become dull. They better speed up with Universal so they get something done in IOA(I don't count X-Men or Flying Unicorn as real attractions).
