Interval Exchange Question

I was looking for some feedback from members that have used interval before for exchanges through member getaways. My wife and I put in for an exchange about 5 months ago for a resort in the Carribean. The only match that has come through has been for a 1 bedroom that we ended up having to turn down because the individual resort wouldn't allow 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant to share a 1 bedroom condo. Anyways, we are looking for a match in August of 2008 because we have friends that will be there and that we planned on vacationing with. Sooner or later, if we don't get a match we will need to look at simply booking a hotel instead. My question is what would be a good time (realistically) to give up on finding a match? 4 months out, 3 months out? I'd hate to wait too long only to not get a match and then be limited to alternative places to stay. Any feedback from other members is appreciated. I still find the whole deal with Interval very confusing.

In JAN06, we attempted to book The Boardwalk Resort in VA Beach for one week that summer. Three days later, we had a match.

This year we did the same. We were notified by mail a few weeks later that again we had a match.

It seems as though you've waited long enough, I'd try calling MS again and see what they say.

Any luck yet Disney Doodah? I have never tried to exchange (with Interval) into Disney. I just submitted for Nov 2008 yesterday. Just curious....

Unfortunately we ended our search without a match. We were trying to coordinate our vacation with some friends and they needed to finalize their plans so we couldn't keep the search open indefinately. We were able to book the same resort we wanted on Grand Cayman (Reef Resort) for 30% off becuase of a summer deal they have going so at least we can stay where we wanted...just wish I could be using points rather then $$$ to pay. I guess next time if we try interval we will put in for the exchange much further in advance so as to hopefully have better luck. Good luck with your search.
