Well as long as you raised it, you are correct, he was never convicted so he wasn't a criminal. MJ (like Disney has done) made a financial agreements, charges were always dropped shortly after but with a with a confidentiality agreement. Maybe, since Disney is comfortable with financial confidentiality agreements, they were able to look past MJs agreements. Agreements or not I'm not a fan of the man they called MJ just too creepity for my taste in humans or Disney attractions.

Most embarrassing issues for celebrities are dropped after a settlement and agreement. One family made accusations against an extremely wealthy and vulnerable person. When money is so object who wants to see their name dragged through the in the press and go through a court battle?
By the second round he went to court to fight it since he realized his name had been dragged through the last time anyway and they couldn't prove anything.
I don't claim to know what happened but it's really nasty to just believe anything said about a person with no evidence other than "I think so because that kid looks cute and sad and he's a plastic surgery monster weirdo so screw him!" 100% of people's analysis was emotional.
We have a system set up to figure out if these accusations are true and that system (while not perfect) is the best we've got. It didn't find anything.
I don't wanna live in a world where we're guilty until proven innocent, sorry.

In the world of power and money things happen, just ask the Kopechne family. Who but the Kennedy's would be only charged with leaving the scene of accident that isn't reported for 9 hours and a pregnant young lady left at the bottom of Chappaquiddick. Money and power make charges disappear so of course they can't be found guilty.
Wealthy have a way of making indiscretions go away long before a trial would ever occur. Money talks.
I'm Catholic. Talk about making indiscretions go away for decades. The innocent ones were the children.
