Internet connections

Does anyone know which resort, if any, have internet connections in the rooms? I stayed at Boardwalk and didn't find any and was told that I could use the business center to get on the net. Wondering it they're thinking of adding these to the rooms in the future. Would definitely make the posting of trip reports a lot quicker.:animwink:

Swan and Dolphin have highspeed connections in the room, along with regular dialup modem ports.

Coronado Springs was/is also being upgraded I believe.

Coronado Springs had it in October when I was there. Of course for a price. It was something like $10.00 per day.

Wow! It was $9.99 for 24 continuous hours at Coronado Springs when I was there in November.

Of course that was just in my room, wifi near the confrence center would have been extra.

However Swan and Dolphin's highspeed access is included in the $10 florida resort fee. So you pay for it if ya use it or not. Found that out as I was reading the in-room card about the resort fee... 15 minutes before i was checking out. LOL Oh well, something for next time

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to know they're adding high speed connection to more resorts. Even Boardwalk which is where I'll be staying. But if it's $20 a day, I'll just send my trip reports by carrier pigeon.

LOL-good one-
So what they mean is 24 hours in a row from the time you first connect? So say from 2pm to 2pm the next day?

In DLR you can connect to the internet at no charge-not even for the call out of your room-it was great! Was great for us since this was supposed to have been a business trip. (10 nights at the GC-concierge-love those kinds of business trips).

At most hotels (Non-disney) if you have a dial-up account with someone, all you really have to do is unplug the phone from the wall and plug in your modem there. Just be sure to dial the 9 before it. However digital systems don't work that way, and to be honest I can't remember now what kind of system Disney has - I can't remember what the phones look like! Anyone know if you can do this with Disney phones?

The resort in DLR, CA had a special plug in on the phone and they did not charge you for internet access.
I think I remember reading somewhere that in WDW you are charged $.75 everytime the phone tries to dial out. (Same thing happens when you dial out and try to use a long distance phone card-you aren't charged for the long distance call but you are charged .75 to connect to an outside line-even locally).

Not the last time I was there. I used dial-up to a local phone and had no charges.

This is great news! I only remember the $52.00 phone bill (all $.75 charges) when DD was trying to use a calling card.

How did you connect to the dial up-is there a special plug on the phone for data?

:) What about Pop Century? We just came back from there and noticed an outlet on the wall by the small table? I thought it was for a computer hookup?? Any idea??
