Hey guys  I'm new to posting on here so if I'm in the wrong place let me know and ill move :).

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on applying for the international college program from England? (anyone done it? doing it etc). I've always wanted to do this so i'm looking for any info to help me decide when would be the best time to do it!

Im in my first year at Sheffield Hallam University, which is listed on the website as one of the participating Universitys in England. My course (business and ICT) means that I get my third year off for a 'Sandwhich', meaning I get a job for a year to gain experience before returning to university for my final year.

Does this sound like the type of thing the college program would work for? and if so how soon before hand do you need to look into applying?
Also, if anyone knows anything about the business courses they offer for the 'education' side of the program I'm really interested to find out more about it!

thanks in advance for any help :)

I would try the International Program's website for more info & talk to your university advisor (I'm not sure if England has that kind of set up, someone who helps you pick classes, etc)

For American students, the applications go up in Janaury for the fall programs (may/june-jan or aug-jan) and late August or early September for the spring programs (jan-may or jan-aug).

Some of the international program participants are there for an entire year, but I think there might shorter options.

All of the classes they offer are on the regular cp website. www.wdwcollegeprogram.com

It sounds like it might work, but talk to your university & see what they say.

Yummy Jobs handles all of the ICP applications for the UK and have all the details on their website. the team there are all really helpful so if you've got questions about the programs then feel free to ask them. I know all the applications for the summer program are dealt with the previous autumn and I believe that the longer programs are done at the same time but check their website. it's got a lot more relevant information than Disney's own site because it's uk specific.

I agree get in touch with yummy jobs, if you are quick you may even be able to interview for the program that runs over the summer hols, i had a friend who was hired for it in late march a couple of years ago so you may have a chance.

Hi!

I was on the summer programme last year, became a disney ambassador for my uni this year and got back on the programme for this year. Just wanted to let you know that there is no places available at all for this summer. They had 3/4 times the amount of applicants for places this year, had to be very cruel with who they were turning down at phone interviews and then very strict on who they allowed through at f2f. They even set up a waiting list and started offereing places from that as places were declined. I even know of one person who was offered the summer at the beach resort (which i don't even think is in Florida).

Definitely check out the yummy jobs site, programmes are changed all the time, lots were removed during the economic problems so hopefully we'll see more of them.

Year wise, you could look at the cultural rep programme but then you will only be allowed to work in the UK pavillion at Epcot, which means working in food and drink or merchandise, although some people love this it isn't something I'd like to do.

Failing that, Universal Studios do a year programme, where you can work anywhere but you have a set 2 roles, like attractions for 6 months then merchandise for 6 months, its a pretty neat programme, but I think slightly more expensive then Disney, I do know people who have done all the programmes so just PM me if you want to know anything!

The summer programme is a GREAT programme, you should deifnitely consider it for next year, and remember, altho it seems to read that you must be returning to uni to do the programme, you can do it in your last year!!! :)
