When Disney is demolishing an attraction's interior (Mission to Mars, World of Motion, Horizons) or exterior (Skyway, 20k) do they do it with care or do they ravage like animal burning things? I would really like to know if anyone has insight on this matter and could post their response to the boards. If you have a long formatted response (1-2 paragraphs) and would rather e-mail it you may do so to LongballMG@Yahoo.com. It will be interesting to hear what people have to say regarding this matter.

Thank You very kindly, in advance, for your response

I believe that they take out a few things carefully, (i.e. reusable hardware, and some parts for history sake) but after that it's burn, they need to take things down quick, so the can rebuild. :fork::fork: :fork:

Well I'm sure that they probably dismantle the actual "ride" pieces with care, but probably only if they are going to use them for something else or save/sell them. But as for the actual building, if they are demolishing it, I'm sure they are sledge-hammer-happy!:fork:

I'm all for Disney keeping parts of old attractions, i.e. Horizons and WOM. But once that building is empty, destory it as soon, and as safely as possible! The sooner it's gone the sooner construction on a new attraction can begin!

well they seem to sell and or store some of the good stuff ... but they can't be all too reckless as to not bother guests and make a mess ...

I'm not sure I understand your deep need for this information, but here is my two cents:
It is rare that Disney totally demolishes a ride.
Horizons was an extreme case, where that whole building had to be torn down, but most of the interior props, as well as the ride system was saved. The ride system was sold, as I recall.

A lot of Toad's interior was saved for Imagineers to keep, as well as the cars (Tony Baxter has one, one was on Ebay). Same sort of deal with WoM.

Skyway station is still there, but the poles were removed and the buckets stored away (or sold, I'm not sure).

What I'm getting at is, they don't just trash the whole thing, building, sets, vehicles and all. A lot is kept. No "animal burinig" whatever that is.

I think they would remove everything with care, but once in the inside is gutted out... burn baby burn! :fork:

OK, bear with me here Longball...
The question is WHY are you writing this 10 page paper to send to those people?
Is it a school paper that you think they would like to read?
Are you trying to tell them something?
Fill us in.
