Interesting Orlando Weekly Article

My favorite part was the line about how Hogwarts Express is seeing more people per day than DAK.

It's a brand new high capacity attraction that guests in two parks can board. Additionally almost everyone rides it twice (if not more.) So that is not that great of a statistic.

For what it's worth there are several attractions in the magic kingdom that see more guests per day than DAK. And for that matter more guests per day than visit universal studios.

I always give Seth a listen on the forums, but it's interesting to see what he's willing to print in the paper. Granted, he makes darn sure people know it's all rumor... for the time being.

Seriously. It's an interesting factoid, but pretty meaningless. It's presented in a way to make it seem like the Uni parks are seeing more guests than DAK -- which may or may not be true, but doesn't follow from the statistic quoted. It's comparing apples (number of times a ride is ridden in a day) to oranges (number of people who enter a theme park in a day).

This basically falls under the category of "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Now, if either Studios or IOA are getting higher daily attendance than DAK (or DHS) that would actually be a pretty juicy piece of information.

DAK is rumored to be getting around 19K on a good day this summer.

DHS is getting just over 20K/day but has strong merchandise numbers.

What a crazy thing! How can Hogwart's Express get more passengers than DAK has guests?
Let's say 90% of ALL Uni visitors (USF AMD IOA) ride HE, with 75% riding BOTH ways. Even allowing for the fact that my numbers may be a generous. ballpark, the actual total will add up FAST.

It's like if they counted the number of people that walk through the breezeway at Epcot and compare that to the attendance at another park. People will walk in both directions and possibly multiple times.

I thought that the Kidzone revamp was suppose to be a family themed IP? This article makes it sound like that's where Star Trek is going
