Interesting new refurbishments at Disneyland

Disney has moved some of its refurbishments around, first with the Mad Tea Party's refurbishment moving to after Easter, and Splash Mountain's reopening moving to March 14 (also Critter Country's reopening, which closes Feb. 24th, incidentally), to, most likely, align with the opening of the new Pooh ride.

With that in mind, Disney will be closing each of the Fantasyland dark rides for one (and only one) day this month, systematically after Matterhorn and the Carrousel reopen--they will be adding a system where two cast members must signal for the cars to start, not just one--safety issue:

Tuesday, Feb. 18th: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Wednesday, Feb 19th: Peter Pan's Flight
Thursday, Feb. 20th: Alice in Wonderland
Tuesday, Feb. 25th: Snow White's Scary Adventures
Wednesday, Feb 26th: Pinocchio's Daring Journey

Interestingly enough, this will make it such that nearly every Fantasyland ride will have had a rehab this spring (the Castle is still closed, Carrousel, Matterhorn, small world, Mad Tea Party).

Also, Pirates of the Caribbean is closed late April through late May.

So, all in all, Disneyland will manage to refurbish New Orleans Square, Critter Country, and Fantasyland by summer, Adventureland in the fall (when Indy closes), and Tomorrowland next year...at least all the lands will be shimmering for the 50th.
