Hello All. Sorry I cannot include photos with this. I am quite concerned that the activity coming in and out of the SGE area is being watched closely. Therefore, I can not provide any photos with this update.

I have been afforded an advanced look inside of the ride. I'll tell you in detail as I walk thru it.

1. Entrance area, you'll find that a new sign has been installed with the SGE Logo on it. The sign appears to be a support column for the WedWay.

2. Thru the doors. The original pre-show area looks the same. In fact, it would appear that you are entering the original XS ride. They will change some of the dialog of the pre-show to reference Stitch, however the actual demo with Skippy will be much the same.

3. The main show area. The main show area itself as you have seen from other photos on WDW is about the same. You'll notice two large robotic arms have been added to the tube's ceiling area. Otherwise, the rooms appear the same. Stitch is inside the tubes and his movement is very much advanced as stated. The programming of the show is going on; at this point still many technical issues remain.

At least 2 months of work remain at this point; there will certainly be NO cast previews within the 30 days. The theaters themselves, I'm QUITE concerned about. The overall look of the rooms is VERY much like old Alien Encounter show, right down to the seats themselves. I am worried that with all the kids coming in because of the stitch name, too many of them will FREAK OUT at the site of the main show rooms. Never mind when the harnesses are lowered down. I hope to god, none of the lights in the rooms ever go out 100% as it's just to intensely scary looking in there at this point.

You'll also see that much of the original Alien Encounter elements remain (hallways, etc.) I'd be more inclined to call this a "Stitch Overlay" rather than a new ride at this point

In the `Flight to the Moon` theatres no one can hear you scream.... LOL

I`m glad its more of an overlay than a refurb... lets hope the thrills and chills are the same. As with your Tink post, great bit of inside info - thanks.

Considering that you indicate that there is at least of 2 months of remaining work and AP previews have already been publicly announced for a date 6 weeks from now, what will give?

It might be an overlay but it appears to be one heck of a time consuming overlay.

with AP previews, as long as 1 chamber of the show is done, they can go on. I have a feeling this will be like the Mission: Space previews. Get Chamber A done, then let people in and work on Chamber B. Just like Mission Space. Blue and Yellow are done, let people ride while we get Yellow and Red complete.

I think most were prepared for the "overlay" instead of a new attraction. I really hope they do it justice and from what I'm hearing, it will be great. Really looking forward to seeing this in December!

They might be cutting it a bit close, but the grand opening press event is just shy of 2 months away, scheduled on Nov 16

No one ever said this wouldn't be scary. They said it would be more kid friendly. The lights go out in It's Tough to Be a Bug, and it's kid-friendly. The harnass system, alone, disallows 3 year olds from seeing this attraction. Note in Disney's official description: "Stitch's Great Escape!™ has long periods of darkness and loud explosions."

Something is telling me, that if SGE is a screamer for kids, GR will get MORE complaints from this than from AE, as everyone generally KNEW AE wasn't for kids and didn't bring 'em in there.

It still wiil be screamer, so in the end... NOTHING's changed... although the show would be pretty nifty... the effect on small children will be the same... so.. same ol' same ol'

Parents (not reading) and complaining... that's what I said when they shut AE down... :D

And thus, that is why I found this all useless. I mean someone at Disney must have realised this. But anyway, making the attraction 1 minute longer could have at least brought a line boost to AE.

I wouldn't call ITtbaB exactly "kid-friendly".....many children are afraid of it.

I swear, if this turns out to be AE with Stitch (what I mean is that if Guest Relations recieves just as many complaints and kids everywhere are terrified during the show), then there are going to be some very angry AE fans out there.

Wait, wait...

Wasn't the goal to bring in KIDS? If the point is to make it a scary thrill ride, how can Stitch benefit if it can only bring more complaints from parents who bring their children in, thinking it will be a cool Stitch ride?? Isn't this kinda a trick? It was obvious that AE would be a scary attraction, but Stitch is so kid-appealing.

Could it be that they are focusing more on making profit from the gift store than responding to these guest complaints?
