Innoventions Update =D

Well, I'm not sure if anyone likes innoventions or whatnot, but I love it there and I got trained for our new venue that opened up. I can offically announce that it's now opened to the public.

Well remember a few years back they had "It's a Nano World" at epcot?!! It was all about nanotechnology and whatnot. Well Nano is back but it's called Too Small to see and omg, I got trained for it today and I've never seen so many kids having so much fun at innoventions before!! I thought they'd be happy with the bug tunnel but I was wrong. It's too small to see is full packed with nanotechnology and fun things for the children to do.

They get to build their own molecules, see their skin magnified, and do various other activites. I'm going to love having nano for my rotation.

Here are the websites for the new venue at innoventions.

Thanks for the info v. I really with they would open the Innoventions areas back up like Communicore was. There are some great exhibits back there, but I would guess that 60% of the guests (and that might be generous) have no idea what's there.

Glad the new exhibit is going well!

I heard that "Opportunity City" in Innoventions East closed on November 1. Is there any truth to that, and if so, any idea of what is replacing it? Something Siemens?

Nope nope!! It's still up and running. I think it's still going to be there for a longer while.

Is nano scripted presenter or hoho? Great to see some new exhibits coming in. Just making me miss working more and more though!

Seeing as we're on the subject of Epcot, how 'bout some totally awesome '80s nostalgia. On tonight's episode of "How I Met Your Mother," one of the characters had a secret past life as Robin Sparkles, a Canadian teen-pop idol. She had a smash hit called "Let's Go To The Mall" which sounds and looks like it's from the '80s but actually came out in '93 (since the '80s didn't come to Canada 'til the '90s). This is all fictional but they made a hilarious music video to go along with it. It's connection to Epcot? Well, there's a cool robot in the video and it's very reminiscent of Wonders of Life. Check it out!

Anybody know what it replaced? I'm still upset that the Ultimate Home Theater Experience thing got taken out. You know, when I get to watch it, TV's my thing. It's one of the things I'm best at (Watching TV). I hope something just as great fills that space.

This sounds like a neat exibit, but not something I will have on my must-see list. I wish I spent more time in Innoventions during my trip, but your time is limited in WDW and for $70 to get in, my family wants the rides. Who can resist the power of Soarin' next to Innoventions? If I had a season pass, I'd probably spend more than thirty minutes in Innoventions, it's a real neat place. This should add to it.

The place where UHTE used to be is now Too Small to See.

They need to bring back the Imagineering section....and that cool robot that could draw your face!

One thing I am dying to see at Epcot is technologies like videophones and holographs. There is a fax machine type thing too that scans an object and sends a replica to another machine? that sounds cool! they need more of that.

V Misses Epcot.....originally you had said you were working a late shift for something related to YOMD, what was it for?
I had read on another thread that they hand out about 2000 wristbands, and after illuminations, those people are allowed to stay and they get MS, Soarin', Nemo and TT all to themselves. Is that why you had to stay? It sounds like a neat prize!

This is very cool, nanotech could be THE next big thing to impact our daily lives the way computers were in the early 80's. Nanotech has the potential to repair our bodies from inside the cell walls, create microscopic "robots" that can quickly build incredibly small components, or even reproduce themselves if they need help getting the job done. Other applications could be a wave of the little guys transforming garbage into gasoline at the molecular level. If nanotechnology comes to fruition the way that some futurists predict, it could have incredibly far reaching changes on society as a whole around the planet. It could potentially be the thing to end the problem of scarcity in the world*. It's really good to see an exhibit at Epcot exploring these ideas, instead of just latest in corporate and consumer technology.

Yeah! 3d-printing and rapid prototyping, extremely cool stuff!

*of course there's always the dreaded theoretical "gray goo" scenario

*nods nods* It was an okay prize. It didn't go so well because of the power outage and I don't think all 1500 people stayed. It was freezing cold that night.
