Does anyone know why the show Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas was cancelled at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on December 16 (a Tuesday)? They said it was becuase of an ill performer, but it was very sudden and that's all they would say. Anyone have any more details? Me and my family were thinking it sounded more like someone had been injured right before the show started.

That Norwalk type virus that has been going around can hit you quite suddenly and make you ill enough not to perform.

Not saying that is what happend, but it is a possibility

Ill is not injured. As was mentioned, the Norwalk Virus (a very bad stomach virus) was going thru WDW and CM's and guests alike were getting sick.

The chances of that aren't very likely, as there are multiple people trained in each role. During every show, there is one extra equity dancer backstage (and even if two people happened to get injured, they can make do with fewer dancers) As for the characters, extra friends are usually able to be called in fairly quickly if needed :animwink:

I don't doubt that they had understudies around. They would be crazy not to.

I am thinking stomach aliments and ruined costume. I don't know what part was comprimised, or what the situation was, but you never know. I have seen things happen (not with stage work) where you think you have backups and then somthing comes in from left field.
