Indy Speedway Question

We'll be making our next trip in Sept. and I know my son will be tall enough to reach the pedals (he's 36" right now), but I'm not sure I trust him to operate a motor vehicle. He would love it, and he would be really good at the going, but I'm not so sure about the stopping. I know some bumping is par for the course, but I don't think people would appreciate getting rammed at full speed (as slow as it may be). Is there a way for the passenger to slow the car? Do you just close your eyes and cross your fingers when your little one is driving?

if your going with a group of more than 2 people, have another person from your party ride in the car in front of you. I rode infront of my sister 2 years ago(when she was 8) and so I was the one getting rammed and not some stranger. Most people wont say anything if you child hits them because most likely they have a child driver too who is doing the same thing to the person in front of them

Thanks, I hadn't thought of something like that. Hopefully one of the nieghbors will have a Power Wheels so he can practice his road skills.

When my kids were younger this was always one of their favorites. I would let them sit & steer and let them use the pedal until we got near the loading zone...then they knew it was my turn. Or depending on how old your little guy is, you could just let him steer and you reach over and use the pedal for him during the whole drive. If he wants to do it all just make sure you leave enough space between your car and the one in front of you - just do a delayed start.

Enjoy it the ride. :)
