...will be screened at Universal Cineplex this coming up week. Just thought I like to point that out for the locals.

If you time it right, you can see them all in the order the movies where released. Wonder why they didn't show them in chronological order (Temple, Raiders, Last Crusade, and Crystal Skulls).

Never did see Raiders in the theater, might check that one out.... :)

I'd love too, but I wouldn't spend a day in that theatre. Maybe if it was Pleasure Island. That theatre is too hard to get to, plus is never well-kept.

I agree, but disagree at the same time. Yeah, they don't upkeep the bathrooms (which is a shame). But I still prefer Universal Cineplex over the crappy AMC at Pleasure Island.

The sound quality alone is worth it.

One of the things I'd wanted to do at Universal was watch BTTF at the Cineplex. Seems like the same "Sure, I own it and have seen it hundreds of times, but it's in the THEATRE again!" type of discussion going here.

I saw Psycho, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, Christmas Vacation, and Jurassic Park during my year down there. I am ed I missed Jaws and Ghostbusters, and ed I missed out on T2 and now, the Indy trilogy.

All films (with an exception of Christmas Vacation) were the old 35 mm prints, which made it worth-while. Ferris Bueller's print was really bad, with the sound distorting back and forth. And Jurassic Park was also pretty bad, with some bad reels toward the end.

However, I wouldn't have it any other way. For everything except JP, I never experience those films on the big screen. And JP was extra special, for the last time I saw that on the big screen, I was eight.

I like the idea of showing these films - and different films, weekly - for a cheap price. And I do prefer this theater, over the overrated Pleasure Island AMC. Just something special about Universal Cineplex most general goers do not understand.

I go to Pleasure Island 24 pretty much EVERY time, and will take Theatres 1 or 2 over any theatre at Universal any day.

I will never forgive the Pleasure Island theater for putting the DLP projectors in theaters with ancient, non-stadium seating.

Never.

Thanks for telling us twice?

I much prefer the Universal AMC to Downtown Disney's - it's just more modern and well-kept in my opinion. I never knew they showed older movies here for a cheaper price, though! If I'm up in Orlando while they do any of this stuff I'll have to go. It's so great they're giving these classic movies the big-screen reruns they all deserve. :D

Never.

There was a reason behind this. The DLP projectors were installed for the 3D capability. At the time, no digital projector was bright enough to put 3D on a 60 foot screen like they have in auditoriums 1 and 2. They wanted more seating capacity than the other stadium auditoriums with smaller screens had so they ended up in the non-stadium houses.

Within a year or two all of the screens will be DLP and probably at least a third of them will be 3D capable.
