Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

So freaking happy I got a Steam Deck instead of an Xbox for this. An Xbox would’ve been useless whereas the Steam Deck gives me easy emulation and portability. After this PS5 announcement, I’m now going to wait to see if there’s a port from Panic Button of Indiana Jones for the Switch 2. Same as I’m doing for Doom: The Dark Ages.

So here’s where I am with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, absolutely hyped for this game. In fact, it’s now my #1 most anticipated for the remainder of this year. I’m a huge Indy fan, and when I saw the editions I had to make a choice.

I bought an Xbox Series S on Black Friday long ago specifically to play this game (and Sea of Thieves). I don’t really play it ever. I’m primarily a PS5 gamer, as well as a steam deck player. I also have a switch that I play from time to time. So when I saw it was releasing on PS5 I thought maybe I’d wait to play it on my PS5. Then I thought, I already bought the Xbox specifically for this, so I actually just bought the collector’s edition for series s/x. I rather have the game for Steam or PlayStation but I get the sneaking suspicion they may not do a collector’s edition for PS5. I also don’t think the Steam deck is going to be able to run the game very well out of the box. So that’s what lead me to the Series S. Game is $100 bucks with the DLC, so your essentially paying $80 dollars for the other stuff I’m fine with that.

Down the line I absolutely intend on buying the game for Steam, and possibly PlayStation if it’s good on a deep sale of course. I also get 3 days “early” access.

Side Note: I now have the collector’s for Indy (Xbox) as well as Epic Mickey (PS5) pre-ordered.

I see your points but I still find more value with the Deck. Along with my emulated games I have Halo on the same machine. Plus it’s portable like the Switch.

Deck is an incredible experience. Just beat Kingdom Hearts 1 on it probably the definitive way of experiencing those games and I’ve played them dozens of times (check the profile pic).

The thing about Indy, I don’t know if the deck will be able to handle it performance wise. By the way, I saw you mentioned DOOM, those are fantastic experiences as well on the deck.

Already played both DOOMs on Switch lol.

Was watching a few videos about some media that was able to take a hands off sneak peek of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Lots of new information in there but something did jump out at me. Apparently the game starts in Marshall College where Indy is a professor. When you open Indy’s adventure book in the game (seems like a journal that contains messages) toward the beginning of the game according to this media account you will actually find the map to the temple of the forbidden eye from the attraction in Disneyland.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull: Unspecified 1930’s
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: 1935
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye: 1935
Raiders of the Lost Ark: 1936
Indiana Jones and the Golden Circle: 1937
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: 1938
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: 1957
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: 1969

Maybe that’s how we’ll be playing the original temple sequence from Raiders which is very obviously in the trailers.

Something I forgot to say last night was my reaction to using his camera to learn more about the environment. My first thought was “omg they put in the scan and logbook system from Metroid Prime.” If they treat Indy right this could be a very good time for me :)

This game just keeps looking better and better. Come on Microsoft, announce compatibility with the Steam Deck or a Switch 2 version once that’s actually announced!

I'd be surprised if it wasn't planned for a switch 2 release. I'd say steam deck is also a pretty good bet. With Microsofts last commercial saying everything is an Xbox, it's a good bet that if it can play a game, it's probably going to come out. Especially since a large majority of the development was multi plat anyway.

PC Requirements revealed. From what I’m seeing it’s not looking good for the Steam Deck. I might have to hope for a miracle Switch 2 port like what happened with Doom, Wolfenstein 2, and Doom Eternal.

It uses the alphabet from the Forbidden Eye queue.

Just starting playing the game tonight on my Xbox Series X. Looks great and it drops you right into the beginning of the first movie (which acts as a tutorial). I'm absolutely loving it already and it really feels like you're in an Indy movie (so far, at least). Anyways, here's the full Temple of the Forbidden Eye document you find very early in the game.

Jealous. Idk why the Xbox Series S settings seemingly aren’t available for PC users so I can play it on my Steam Deck.
