DANG!!!!! Me, too, only I wanted to bring the barbecue so me 'n' the kids cold cook ourselves up some burgs and dogs. While we were at it, we were going to clean the family handguns and share that jug of moonshine. How're we gonna do that without duffels and coolers? :ROFLOL:

Look at the bright side figmentmom. You don't have to lug the grill from NY 52 days from now.:D

Well, for one thing, you put "Security Procedures" in quotes, which can be taken as another bash against Universal, like they're not going to enforce them as good as Disney could, or something.

And, you bolded things they've definitely been doing for a long time. Honestly, I don't think there was any increase, they just added that to get people to pay more attention to the slip.

That logic doesn't make sense. At the airports, if instead we hadn't done ANY increased security, then the chances would be much greater for people to copy past acts of terrorism.

Ya know what? I put in the headline everything that was on the slip that they gave me. The words "Increased Security Procedures" were on the slip. So honestly, if you're going to be a jerk, take it somewhere else because it's not needed here.

We were there in January 2008 and they didn't care about the water bottles and snacks we brought. They didn't even mention it.

I never mind being inconvenienced if it means we are safer.....I never understand when people get annoyed when security take extra time at the airport, its for YOUR SAFETY! *shakes head* Ill never understand that.

Thanks for posting that! :)
because many of these "safety" measures are without merit :)

Granted, no weapons or alcohol for safety, I understand. Although, UO will gladly sell you booze without cutting you off, thus negating any additional safety created by restricting outside booze.

At the end, it's just a show to make ma and pa kettle feel comfortable.

While I agree that if someone really wants to blow up or hijack a plane, they will find a way. But, at least with new security measures, they can't do it the ways they previously could which makes it more difficult.

I don't really think I need to go into further explanation. Also, for the record, I'm not even someone who supports all these extra efforts to stop terrorism, but I do realize how the new safety measures, such as the banning of carry-on liquids, prevent (or at least help prevent) previous terrorist plots from happening again.

But the issue is that terrorists plan before they attack. They don't just go willy nilly trying to do things that they know won't work. New rules just mean new plans for them and a greater inconvenience for all. Like I said, there is a point of diminishing returns. I'd be a tad safer if I didn't have windows on my home but I enjoy looking outside too much to board them up. Also, notice how the "liquid" ban has already been cut back and now you're allowed liquids under a certain ounce. It is only a matter of time before that too is cut back and we're allowed to bring any liquid we want back on. It's all just done RIGHT after something happens to make everyone feel safer and then slowly removed so people don't notice. Not to mention, liquids can be easily combined to form an explosive anyway so having each "container" under a certain ounce is completely meaningless in the first place. I can just take all of those small containers and combine them together in an empty large bottle. TADA!! I thought of that and I'm not even a terrorist! :hammer:
