Anyone noticed DVC notching up marketing efforts for existing DVC members in the past month or so? In the 15 years I’ve been a member I’ve never received as many solicitation calls and emails from DVC as I have in the last month.

I also get a ton of phone calls asking me if I received the packet and invitation to the membership meeting at Olive Garden. After 7 calls in the same day from the same number I went all Les Grosman and Brian Mills on them.

Nope. No calls. No e-mails. No mailings. No nothing for us. It's been almost a year since anyone called me out of the blue.

These are not DVC people though. Fortunately my call blocker seems to keep those at bay too though in the past I don't recall getting many of those.

Not for me personally (I am the member), but we have gotten mailers addressed to every single family member/friend who is linked to MDE and traveled with us over this past year. Have probably gotten 4 or 5 of these in the last few weeks, which up until now has never happened. Thought it was odd - not from my guide or anything, just from DVC.

Are they finally exercising that? I was under the impression they never did.
Some site, forget which one, tracks the ones Disney buys back. It seems to have increased. I was nervous with my AKL purchase back in October.
I haven't gotten a thing. Maybe it's regional??
In PA, I got a mailer last week, pushing a discount if you buy so many points at Copper Creek. Maybe they are targeting resale buyer memberships or folks with a certain amount of points.

Im in NJ, I've been getting mailers, emails, phone calls, all from Disney. It all started at the beginning of January. Normally I don't mind DVC communications, but its gotten so spammy, I've unsubscribed to to all of the communications. I've got 480 points at SSR, I'm really not looking to add on.

I am in NJ as well, and I get a mailer every other week or so. Some are generic mailers, others are targeted with my name, the resort I own at, and my consultants (or whatever they are called) contact info.

that has been par for the course for me for a long time. I get mailers ranging from every other week to once every quarter or so.

I got a mailer for Copper Creek recently but I haven’t noticed an uptick in attempts to sell to me. I’ve never received a phone call from DVC. I am a resale owner so I never dealt directly with a sales rep so maybe that’s why.

Whatever they are doing must have worked. Per DVCnews DVC points sold in the month of January were the highest monthly total since 2013 and the 4th highest monthly total in a decade. Copper Creek also had its best sales month ever and it was the second most points sold for a single resort in a month. It would be interesting to know how many of the points sold are to existing owners vs new customers but they don’t publish those stats.

Here in Maryland we just received the one mailer about Copper Creek points. No phone calls. All our points are direct, and we will be adding on this year.

I would suspect the spike in sales activity is probably the result the of new resale restrictions implemented on 1/19.

It was a spike in direct sales. I would think the resale restriction would push a spike in people trying to get in a resale buy before the restrictions kicked in. You had to get your contract to Disney for ROFR by 1/19/19. Probably a crazy few weeks for resale companies.
