My wife and I and two other friends are going in mid December. We want to save money by eating in our room. Any ideas for microwave cuisine? We will eat out ,we're just try to stretch our dollar a little more.

All of the resorts with a DVC attached have a decent selection of microwaveable or heat and serve type meals. I think the newly refurbed store at the Beach Club has the best selection.

Thanks for the tip. This is true...BUT,That stuff is outrageous in price. It's good if you want a quick snack though. In '05 My wife and I stayed at Saratoga Springs on our Honeymoon and Wilderness Lodge last year courtesy of my Sister and Brother in law. They are DVC members. It was fun, but the prices kind of caught us off guard. Plus we had one month to save and prepare for this trip. This time we will be staying at Wilderness Lodge. We could eat out all the time and or just have breakfast in the room, but my wife and I are trying to save $$$ for other things in Orlando. I thought back to the days when I was in the Navy and a bachelor and my roommate and I lived on the cheapest, nastiest tasting stuff(while on Detachment) known to singles everywhere....Ramen and Hamburger helper. Yikes!! HAHAHAHA!!! I'll do my homework and figure it out. Thanks much!

I don't have any specific suggestions, but there are a lot of just add water or just add milk type of things that you can find at the grocery store that are pretty good.

My DW and I always send down by UPS ground ahead of time a care package with all sorts of snacks.

I would think of some canned things like canned chicken, turkey or tuna. You can add those right into pasta. There are a good amount of boil in the bag items out there too that do not need to be refrigerated.

It might be worth the $20-$30 or so Taxi ride to the grocery store to get some fresh items. I would think preplanning would be key. Over the next few days go to the store and make your dinners out of the Microwave. That way when you are down there you will already have a list and menu.

Good luck and there's always PB&J in a pinch.

Last year the wife and I stayed at the Boardwalk villas for our wedding. After the wedding everyone came back to the room to change, hang out, etc.. and we ordered this huge deli platter from room service. Must have been enough food to feed an army. This could easily last a few days if you have fridge in your room. I just can't remember the cost though.

Just something to maybe checkout too.

HAHAHAHAH! I like that. I ate enough of those to last me a life time...the beef stew was excellent though. MREs, that takes me back.
