This is my 1st time trying to get the best slots for us, so please tell me..if the start date of our vacation is Dec 7th, when exactly can I be ready to make them? This Saturday at midnight?? Thanks guys!

I knew this one w/o checking b/c we went on Dec 7th back in 2010...it was our girls' first trip, so June 10th is still etched in my brain.

This site should help if you need to calculate dates in the future.

http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadded.html?m1=12&d1=7&y1=2013&type=sub&ay=&am=&ad=180&aw=

Additionally, the website is buggy...but there is a way to book 180 + 10 on line if you use the following link...
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_GB/
You have to close out all browsers before accessing it, but the dining section on here is like the old site and will let you book 180+10 - and give you a 1 hr advantage on the phones. It's worked for many, so it can't hurt to try it. There's more info on the 180+10 Success thread I started in the dining section a while back.

Thank you so so much!! Seeing how you have had the same vacation dates in the past, is say you were the one for the job! Lol I think I'm going to set my alarm and be ready at 6am Monday morning online. If the website isn't working, I will call at 7pm. The rest is a little confusing..haha. Do you think I'll be ok with this plan? I'm only trying to get 3 ADRs: Akershus, Crystal Palace, & Sci-Fi.

You won't have any trouble getting those, even under the 180 day window.

Yeah, I figured. I just want certain time slots before they fill up. I think I'm making a smart move by going to BOG for lunch, with no need for ADR! From the food reviews, I know we're are going solely for ambiance!

Well, maybe. I've heard that BOG has some crazy wait times for the lunch service right now (in the hours). I'm not sure I'd wait an hour to eat there...

Though, by Dec. maybe things will have calmed down there for the lunch service. I dunno, I will be able to tell you what they look like when we go in August, because I *missed* my 180 mark by about two weeks, and BOG has booked up all 11 days of our stay!

I doubt you'll have any problem getting those. Akershus and Crystal Palace can be a little more difficult if you're trying for the 8:05am breakfast slot OR timing things up for dinner before evening things (i.e. MSEP, Illuminations, Wishes, etc.), but you should still be good booking those on day 180. I mean, I booked the 8:05a for Crystal Palace a couple of months ago...party of 9...no problem. I also don't see any issues with Sci Fi; however, DHS "sometimes" experiences an influx of people for dinner in Dec simply due to Osborne Lights. While I had to turn our last trip upside down and then sideways b/c of Be Our Guest, I remember on day 180/6am being floored that I couldn't get the 6pm at 50s Primetime. I was stuck with either 6:25p or 5:35p. We ended up switching days and after much stalking, I got a 4pm which was perfect for seeing the lighting of Osborne Lights, but still.

Good luck!!!!

While we enjoyed certain aspects of dinner, we're opting for lunch this trip...assuming certain potentially cranky people in our party have the patience for it. While there are some pros to each meal, considering how long we waited to be seated at dinner...I can handle the lunch line. Dinner's advantages IMO = Beast & Grey Stuff if you're celebrating. And as much as I LOOOOVED the charcuterie plate in the appetizers, the bulk of the lunch menu seems more appealing.

I'll be looking forward to your trip report!!! I am hoping the novelty will wear off a little at lunch. Now I'm second guessing myself though. Do I really want to wait an hour for lunch with toddlers? Lol

I am hoping for an 8:05am time slot at Crystal Palace!! I want to be one of the first people in the park, and I would love to get some great photos of an empty Main Street!!

While I'm pretty sure you'll experience a wait, I've heard the lunch line at least moves pretty well. My younger one had her first two trips to WDW when she was 2 and she fared much better on lines that had movement.

We really love doing pre-park opening meals and activites. It's really nice making that turn onto MSUSA and actually be able to stop for a moment...i.e. there's no massive crowd behind you pushing forward. I'm also really fond of getting pics up by the castle at that early hour. We've been let in most trips between 7:40-7:45a, so while it's not a ton of time...it's still enough to get in a few good pics.

If you can get it, you might want to take an ADR for BOG. That way if you change your mind and want to try dinner, you have one. You probably couldn't switch to a dinner later on since they book up fast!

I'm sure you'll be fine with those 3 reservations. I tried to book online at 180 days, but couldn't get the website to link my reservation. Ended up having phone exactly as it opened, and I booked Crystal Palace & Sci-Fi Dine In at the times I wanted.
Good luck :)
