In desperate need of Ohana!

The fdd this year has been insane. We were originally booked for great dates but I couldn't modify online. By the time I got through the avilibility for our cabins on that check in date had been booked up. I was pretty mad. Mostly bc I had already booked dining and with the date changes, lost most of them. Managed to keep CRT at 8 am but lost Ohana.
How hard is it to walk in and wait for a table here? There will be 6 of us. I know September is a ways out and I'll keep cheking MDE to see if anything opens up but so far it's just late night and we have 3 littles so a 9pm reservation won't work. Had anyone had luck with walking in? If so how long is the wait? I know even with ADRS we have waited 30+minutes.
I'm still irritated about not being able to adjust this online and we are now checking in on a Thursday and out the following wednesday. I'm really hoping getting in to Ohana is possible one way or another!

Definitely keep trying! It will open up. I also highly recommend touring plans reservation finder. I've had great luck getting hard to get reservations with that tool!

Where can I find it?? Is it a free service? I have a pretty basic understanding of the science behind disney and all the tricks!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links or not. But if you google touring plans wdw it should come up. It is definitely a free service but you will have to make an account with them!

Can you maybe send me a link another way. I haven't found one that actually does the bookings for you.?? Maybe I'm misunderstand what they do lol.

It won't do the bookings for you, you still need to do that. The tool just finds available openings.

A Disney-focused travel agent would usually offer to make the booking as part of their service, but it sounds like you booked direct with Disney.

It is difficult to get a walk up reservation to 'Ohana for a large party. I saw a party of 3 or so being turned away one night because they didn't have a reservation and they weren't taking names for a wait list. But keep checking right up until the day of because people are always cancelling (esp because of their 24 hour cancellation policy).

That's what I'm hoping for, is if anything g the day before it pops up. Last year I had one pop up and I hesitated grabbing it and waited for my husbands opunion and by the time I heard back at 10 min later it was gone so if I find anything from 4-8 or 830 I'm grabbing it and asking questions later lol!

I got one for 350 on our last night there!! I figure it will be closer to 5 by the time we sit and eat which is perfect...I didn't want to have to leave the park early on our last day BUT then i realized that's a MNSSHP night so realisticlly we could go back for that and get extra time in, wear the kids out and head home the next day!!!
